10:20 am

A yawn escaped your lips as you stretched your limbs after waking from a dreamless sleep. You squinted at the unbearably bright sun that flared through the windows as you shoved the covers off.

You sat up to stand only to freeze at the sight of Stu's snoozing body beside your bed.

Instantly, you were reminded of last night, how he showed up unannounced, spouting all this nonsense about you leaving. You ended up talking more about Cotton until Stu decided to smoke some more before he ultimately passed out. You tried waking him, though it was impossible while he was stoned so you just gave up and went to sleep.

With a sigh, you maneuvered around him as you stood from the bed to get ready. According to Randy, you were supposed to meet up with Dewey and Gale today for coffee to talk about this killer situation. So, you grabbed a towel before entering your en suite bathroom to shower.

As you cleansed your body, you thought about how you were going to kick Stu out without your roommates assuming you slept together. It was already humiliating enough after they'd walked in on you in such an awkward position with him, and you especially didn't want Randy to think you fucked a killer. That was definitely not on your agenda for this year.

You didn't take too long to finish up in the bathroom. After applying lotion and brushing your teeth, you glanced around the foggy room, realizing you had made a mistake.

It was a mistake you could've easily avoided, but you were too distracted by thoughts of Stu that you'd forgotten to bring clothes into the bathroom. The situation reminded you of one of those scenes you'd see in a movie or soap opera, leaving you completely flustered as you re-entered your bedroom with just a towel covering you.

Stu, having already woken up, stood by your balcony door, staring out at the bustling streets of Hollywood. You were grateful that his backside was facing you as you tip-toed over to your dresser in an attempt to sneak some clothes before he saw you.

However, as you tugged on the top drawer, you winced as the old wooden surface let out a creak. You internally cursed yourself as Stu spun around at the sound.

"Y/n, I wa–"

The words got caught in his throat, brows raising slightly at the navy-blue towel wrapped around your body. His eyes panned down to the exposed skin of your chest and legs only to look back up when you cleared your throat.

"Before you make any lewd comments, I forgot to grab clothes." You stated defensively, avoiding his gaze as you began shuffling through your drawer.

You could feel Stu's bright blue eyes searing holes into your figure as he moved, walking up behind you. If, somehow, a hole was to open up in the ground beneath you, you wouldn't mind if it swallowed you up.

"Now, what were you going to say?" You asked, turning to face him after finding a decent outfit.

"...I was gonna say that I wanna help you catch this killer." Stu spoke mindlessly, watching the water droplets drip down your neck to your collarbone.

Your chest heaved as you held the towel up with one hand, clutching your clothes in the other. "Yeah, because we were so successful last time." You muttered, derisively.
