Chaos was unleashed when you arrived at Woodsboro High this morning. The courtyard and side streets were packed with the town's citizens, police officers, and local news reporters interviewing students and teachers about what transpired at the Becker Residency last night.

As you reached the orange barricades on the sidewalk that prevented non-students from invading school property, you couldn't hide your disbelief after overhearing a reporter spouting nonsense about students buying drugs in the classroom and being involved in the occult.

You abruptly stilled when you spotted Gale Weathers, the journalist who was currently writing a book defending the "wrongly accused" murderer of Maureen Prescott — Sidney's mother. Of course, some did believe Cotton Weary was innocent, however, you took your friend's side on the matter, rebuking everything the reporter said about Sidney and her mother.

"Woodsboro, California, was devasted last night when two young teenagers, Casey Becker and Steven Orth, were found brutally murdered," Gale announced. "Authorities have yet to issue a statement, but—"

"Damn! What is going on?" A voice questioned from behind you.

As you spun around, you came face-to-face with Sidney, though before you could respond, your other friend, Tatum, popped up suddenly.

"Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night..." She trailed off as she looked at you, her eyes widening. "My God! Y/n, what're you doing at school? I heard you were there. Are you alright?"

She threw her arms around you, squeezing you in her death grip as she was glad to see you alive and breathing. You let out an airy laugh as you hugged her back, "Yes, Tate, I'm okay."

"Wait, what happened? Where were you?" Sidney asked just after Tatum released you.

"She was there when they were killed and she's the only one that survived. It was straight out of a horror movie," The blonde explained for you.

"Jesus, Casey and Steve?" Sidney exhaled as she couldn't believe it. "That's awful, Y/n. I'm so sorry."

Everyone knew how good of a person your brother was; he'd always cover for you when you stayed out late, defended you when treated unfairly but still did his fair share of sibling torment. And Casey, she was your best friend. You grew up together, spent almost every waking moment with each other. Now they were both gone.

"I'm shocked you're even here," Tatum expressed. "God knows if Dewey died, I'd never see the sunlight again. I'd raise hell to find his killer."

"Well, I couldn't afford to miss our English test," you half-joked. Truthfully, you just didn't want to admit that you were scared to be alone because the killer was still out there. You needed distractions or you'd begin to spiral.

However, the two girls didn't know whether to laugh or feel bad as you continued toward the school entrance.

"We all had English together," Sidney voiced, still reeling from the news.

"Not anymore," Tatum quipped. "It's so sad. Casey's parents said they found her hanging from a tree. Her insides on the outside."

Images of the scene flashed in your mind as the blonde explained to Sidney. You grimaced and tried forcing the thought away. Tatum caught your expression and instantly apologized which you waved off with a forced smile.
