~The Historic Blunder~

Rohit's POV
Ro still hadnt gotten over the severe hangover he had from the serious partying last night dedicated to the Champions Trophy. It was the first time he had drunk alcohol and fun fact he was forced to.

Ro knew of all the ways to have fun but not get drunk. Yesterday was different. Ro desperately needed some fresh air and most probably a breakfast at his favourite caffe near his hotel.

He had asked Vi to go with him but he just showed him the middle finger. So, he had to go alone.

He walked into the Cafe and went to the counter, "Hello Sir what can I do for you?" the lady at the counter asked politely.

"Um a black coffee, strong." he said and smiled. "Ok one black coffee for Mr. Sharma on the way." she said "Wait you know me?"He asked. "Of course sir you defeated Eng in the Ct final. I watched. I am from Ireland by the way."

For a moment Ro had forgotten that he was famous.

Once he was called in to receive the coffee. He went and took it. He forgot the idea of breakfast and was about to leave when He saw three of his old friends Manish, Akash and Rishi.

"Rohit! Oh my god man. Long time no see." Manish said and rushed forward to hug him. Rohit hugged back happily. After pulling away he hugged the rest two.

Three of them were his school life friends. They used to have a whole friend group and it made school bearable for Ro. They took seats at a nearby table and ordered their food.

"Congratulations on the win bhai. Kitna bar socha tha ki message kardu par fate had different ideas, I guess." Rishi said with a wide grin. (How many times I thought to message you but fate had different ideas, I guess)

"Good thing you didn't. Rits handles my dms." Ro replied.

All of them were deep in a conversation when Akash asked, "Do you remember Radha?"

"Eww Why would I go out with you, you are a loser. I'm sure no girl will like you, ever." Radha said disgusted.

Thirteen year old Rohit was almost about to cry but didn't.

"Someday I'll be a huge cricketer and I will have an incredible girlfriend. That day I'll show you." He said and walked away.

"Oh how could I forget her." Ro said sarcastically. They didn't know about what happened between them so they didn't catch the sarcasm.

"Shes getting married to this rich, old divorcee doctor and she wants her wedding to be like a school reunion type. So, If you are free would you like to come?" Akash said

Typical Radha. Marrying for money. "Yeah sure. But are you sure you would want me to?"

"Yes. She gave us the responsibility of invites anyways. By the way do you have a girlfriend? I mean if you do you could bring her." Rishi said

Rohit was caught in a fix. But the flashback of Radha had fired him up. Today eventhough he was successful he was still single. But he wouldn't lose to her. Never. If he would go to her wedding he would go with someone.

"Yes I do. Well we just started dating." Ro lied effortlessly

"Cool then bring her." Manish said.

Then he realised he had royally fucked up. Where would he get a girlfriend from?

The wedding was in a few weeks and they had to be their in a week. How will he get a girlfriend in one week? How long would he lie for?

Now that he had said it there was no way in hell he was backing up. He took all the information and decided to go back to the hotel.

Thank god they had not asked much about his girlfriend. Then it would be really hard for him to find a girl who would fit all the criterias.

He entered his room to see a very moody Virat Kohli sitting on his bed. "Rohit Gurunath Sharma where were you for so long? I don't think breakfast needs this time."

"It doesn't. I met a few school friends actually." He then went on to explain everything. Except the girlfriend part. He would not give Vi a chance to laugh at him.

Vi's face had fell. "You are still close from friends in school?" he said jealousy evident in his voice. Vi was extremely possessive over his best friend. The only person he could share Ro with was Rits.

"They are my friends but not my best friend. Besides I'll be there for only like a month or so." he said consolidating Vi.

They were talking and then Rits came in. "Hi guys sorry to disturb but I had to check something with Ro."she said very sweetly.

Thats when it struck Ro. He had found it. The girl he was looking for.
