Jasper is a home world gem she thinks fusion is a cheap strategy to make weak gems stronger. In the episode "jail break" during the end jasper fused with lapis to make malachite but lapis took control of the fusion and dragged them both to the bottom of the sea. Steven and the crystal gems are looking for there fusion.
