*Isabella's POV*

"Hurry up!" I yelled, swinging my leg over the fence.

Lena stumbled on the grass behind me. She threw her bag to me and hoisted herself up onto the fence. We jumped onto the grass on the other side of the fence and grabbed our bags. We ran across the lawn to the street.

"Where are we going to go?" Lena asked, nervously.

"I know a place." I answered.

We ran through the dark streets for a few minutes until we reached a dirt road.

"I think we're far enough away to walk now." I suggested, taking a deep breath.

"What if they find us? W-what if they find out what we did?" Lena whispered.

"We'll be fine," I reassured her. "We just need to get as far away from here as possible, as fast as possible."

We reached a small, run-down building at the end of the dirt road. There was an old pick-up truck parked outside. A window was boarded up and the wooden porch was rotting away. We walked up the creaky steps and I lightly knocked on the door. A couple seconds later, a lanky guy with messy hair opened the door.

"Can I help you?" he said.

"Are you George?" I asked.

"Depends who's asking." he said.

"I've heard that you're the guy to go to if we need a favour." I said.

"Alright, come in." he said, stepping aside.

We walked into an almost empty room. There was a dingy old couch and a flickering lamp.

"We do our business in the back room." he said.

I turned to Lena. Her eyes were wide and scared and her hands were shaking.

"I'll go take care of this. Just wait here for me, okay?" I said.

"Okay." she replied.

*Lena's POV*

Isabella followed the tall, skinny guy to the back room so I carefully sat down on the dirty couch and rested my head in my hands.

Isabella ran into the room holding two empty duffel bags. She handed one to me and began frantically packing her own.

"The police are going to be here any minute." she said, shoving all the money and clothes she could find into her bag.

"Do you hear that?" I whispered.

A faint siren sounded in the distance.

"It's getting louder." I said.

"Run." she said.

We quickly turned off all the lights and sprinted down the stairs. When we reached the front door, there were blue and red lights flashing in the window.

"They're already here." I whispered.

"Back door." she whispered back.

We ran to the back door and snuck into the backyard. Isabella sprinted towards the fence and threw her bag over. I began to run but my legs were shaking.

"Hurry up!" Isabella yelled, climbing the fence.

"Lena?" I heard a voice say, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked up and saw Isabella standing there. I stood up and she held out two boxes of hair dye. One dark purple and the other, a light purpley-blue.

"We need to dye our hair and take pictures for our new IDs," she said. "Sorry, these were the only two colours I could find while rushing out of the house."

I grabbed the dark purple box and followed her to the little bathroom. We helped each other put the dyes in our hair. After we washed the dye out, we walked out into the room.

"I can't take your pictures until your hair is dry," George said. "But you can stay as long as you need to. There's food and drinks if you need anything, help yourselves."

*Isabella's POV*

A little while later, I was packing water bottles from the fridge into our bags. Lena was sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest. She was staring at a wall and subconsciously playing with the lace of her converse.

"I think you guys are ready to take the photos now." George walked in and told us.

We followed him to the back room and each took a new ID photo. He printed the documents out and carefully authenticated them. After he finished, he handed us two envelopes.

"So your birth certificates, passports, driver's license and IDs are in these envelopes. You shouldn't have any problems because I've been doing this for a long time. But if you do run into difficulties, call this number." he told us and handed us a slip of paper with a phone number on it.

"Say hello to the new us." I said, handing Lena's envelope to her.

She opened the envelope and found her new ID with the name Violet Williamson on it. I pulled out my new ID with the name Bella Smith.

"What do we do now?" Violet asked.

"We're going to go to the train station and get two tickets to the farthest place it can go." I answered.

"Do you two need a ride?" George asked. "It'll be less noticeable than walking."

"Yeah that'd be great." I replied.

Violet and I got into the back of his pick-up truck and hid under a blanket. Once we arrived at the train station, we grabbed our bags and got out of the truck.

"Thank you for everything." I thanked George.

"Of course," he replied. "Good luck."

After he drove away, we walked into the station towards the ticket sales counter.

"Hi, how may I help you?" the woman behind the glass greeted.

"Where is the farthest this train can go?" I asked her.

"New York City." she replied.

"We'll take two tickets, please." I said.

We paid and she handed us our tickets. We boarded the train and sat at the two farthest seats from the other passengers in the back of the train car. I started shoving our bags in the baggage compartment above and Violet sat down. She had barely said anything the past few hours. I sat down beside her.

"Lena." I said, and she looked up at me. "We are going to be okay. We'll figure something out when we get to New York. I promise."

She nodded.

"As long as we stick together." I added.

"Always. Oh and it's Violet, by the way." she joked.

I smiled slightly, and looked out the window. The sky was beginning to get lighter with the start of a new day. The start of our new lives.
