Chapter 3

"Rise and shine Morning Star" Quinn yelled shaking her up outta her sleep. Venus hated it Morning Star. Only Quinn could ever call her morning star and god forbid anyone else called her it. "Geez Quinn it's barely 4 am" Quinn said pulling the covers over herself again. "It's also time to run, so don't make me carry you outta bed" He chuckled. He plopped down on her bed throwing himself on her bed. "Get Off my bed Quinn", "Get Out of Bed First Venus". She sighed there was no way of beating Quinn Hughes.

"Quinn?" Trevor called from the hall peaking into the room, "What are you doing in my sister's bed?" She muttered rubbing his face. "Waiting for her to get up for our run" "I'm not going huggy, it's literally 4 am" "Oh she going" Quinn Grinned dragging Venus out of her bed as she screamed

She had no choice but to go running.

Every Off season since Quinn joined the NHL him and Venus go on morning runs. At first it was Venus's excuse to spend time with him but she realized she had no shot. I mean he was Quinn Hughes, Vancouver Canucks Captain. Thousands of girls out there found him attractive, girls that weren't his Friend's little sister, or his annoying next door neighbor

The run began, it started as jog, and progressed. Venus had stamina and speed and Quinn well he could try. "Can't Keep up Captain?" Venus joked turning around to look at Quinn who could barely catch his breath. Captain assigned to him by his Morning Star. He loved his nickname and he didn't care to show it. Captain coming from Venus made him feel a sort of importance.

They stopped at a local park bench. Quinn began to chug his water bottle as Venus looked at his brown floppy hair and pushed aside part of it that was falling onto his face. "Break's over Captain, Race you back home" Venus said sprinting up and back to homes. Quinn Shortly followed still thinking about how moments prior Venus had her hands touching his hair. But that was just Venus, touchy, sweet Venus.

Venus Won the race obviously. As they approached the Zegras living room laughing and giggling, Luke and Ethan sat around the couch watching highlights. Trevor and Jack in the Kitchen. "Geez guys burn down the house much" Quinn Joked. "Mom and Ellen left for a girls spa day courtesy of us and we're making breakfast." Venus turned to the plate of Bacon next to Jack holding a piece that looked under cooked and one looking burnt.

"Let's just doordash Denny's?" Trevor suggested, "Way ahead of you" Venus replied phone in hand. "Okay 3 Lumberjacks , Chocolate chip Pancakes, Extra Bacon, Scrambled cheddar eggs, 2 Grand slams, 3 Oreo Milkshakes, 2 Vanilla, 1 strawberry and my crepes" Venus called out repeating the order to the boys as they sat around the couches looking for something to watch.

Venus sat next to Ethan and Luke while The other boys sat scattered around the couch and recliners. Mid Avengers movie Luke layed down on the carpet after finishing his food. Venus turned to see her brother really into the movie. She took this as a chance to get closer to Ethan. She put her legs over his and he held them with his hand. she couldn't help but smile. Jack took quick notice to this and elbowed Trevor. Trevor turned and fake coughed, causing Venus to roll her eyes in annoyance.

Venus loves Trevor but oh boy is he a pain in the ass. Trevor being a year older than her meant boys would barely speak to her in fear of a broken jaw or nose. And with Jack there it's the definition of double trouble. She loved them, she did but they made her life hell. No Date's to school dances unless Jonathan Rivas counts and it was 8th grade when Trevor and Jack were already in High school. And even then they had tiny, scrawny Luke watching from a less than safe distance. Venus was bound to die a virgin that was until her prayers came true and Trevor was off to the NHL. Before that her only kiss had been Alexander Harris. His watermelon gum got stuck in her teal braces. The Hughes and Trevor called him gumball for the rest of the year.
