Prologue.
slinkie.Hello reader. My name is Slinkie. Odd name choice, right? Well.. I think so. If you're reading this, I assume you're here for my story. One not for the faint-hearted. I warn you that my story is not “happy”. If you want a happy ending, look somewhere else because mine isn’t happy at all. And if my love, Aloyz, is reading this.
I’m sorry.

Boom. Crash. Slam.
That’s the only thing I heard. I was running. Everyone was. As my planet, Akip, started to implode. Their screams of terror filled the entire planet. I was running with them. Back when I was a young child. I’d say about.. ten years old? I had my older sister, Star. She was, and still is, one of my favorite people in the whole galaxy. Star was sixteen. We did everything together.
Until today.
We were running. Together. She held my hand as we dashed across the small planet. I was terrified. I could see the look in her eyes. I knew she was, too. I didn’t know where I was going, but wherever it was, I hoped it was with her.
It felt like an eternity running. It also felt like a nightmare. People were falling into the cracks coming from the surface and getting crushed. Like the planet was trying to eat us whole. The screams were horrendous. It's like a horror movie. I held on tight to Star. Wishing I would wake up in my warm, cozy hammock, cuddled up with my plushie, as Star made breakfast. But I knew it was false hope.Eventually, we finally got to the city parking garage. People parked their spaceships here. I looked up at her silently, hoping she had a plan. We already lost mom and dad years ago, and she is all I had left. She checked the gas, and it was almost empty. There was definitely not enough to get away. She quickly ran to the hatch and checked for the fuel.
Nothing.
She then powered on the ship.
“Slinkie. Get in, okay?”
I nodded, not wanting to be a burden.
I sat down and curled up in my seat. I watched Star click a couple of buttons in preparation for the flight. Star ran towards our cabin. She always kept spare fuel compartments in her nightstand.
I waited for a moment, reflecting on myself. What would we do after we left? I couldn’t answer that.Suddenly, the ground under the cabin started to crack. I froze in my seat. Terrified. Star couldn’t hear it. What would she do?! I quickly ran out of the ship as the floor under the cabin started to break even more. I ran towards the cabin as fast as I could. I could hear her speeding out as fast as she could. She threw the compartment to me, and she jumped onto the land. She landed, but that was only for a quick moment. The ground shook as the ground under her crumbled. I immediately grabbed her hand. I tried to help her up with all my might, but she didn’t move.
“STAR! Why aren’t you trying to get up!?”
She sniffled with tears in her eyes.
“Slinkie.. I’m too tired.. I’m not going to make it.”
I froze. No. She had to make it. She just had to.
“Star, come on.. just pull up.. Please.. I need you.”
“Slinkie, you need to trust me.”
I stayed silent, crying gently.“Please don’t make me let you go. Please, Star..”
She stayed silent.
“Slinkie?”
“Yes Star?”“Go see the world for me.”
She let go.
She fell down, shedding a single tear.
She let me go.
She didn’t have to.
She was almost there.
She could’ve left with me.
I held the compartment for the ship in my hands.
The ground rumbled again.
If I didn’t hurry, I would suffer the same fate.I sped off to the ship, wiping the tears off my face.
When I reached the ship, I put in the compartment. The ship made a whirring sound as it accepted the fuel.
I hopped in the front seat.
Star’s seat.
I pressed the start button since Star already put the ship on auto pilot. It would be a 3 day trip there. I at least had water, gummies, and a couple of dollars in my pocket.
Even through all of the tears and fear, I knew one thing. This would be rough.
