With the weight of his loneliness and depression, the prince went to bed, barely sleeping at all. He woke up the next day, Tired, drowsy, Wasted almost. He slowly got out of bed and slipped into his usual, casual attire, and walked into the food chamber, preparing himself a meal before sitting down on a near by chair, nomming on a sandwich with a look of regret in his eyes. „..I'm Tired of the Castle. I'll head out to the Village! Talk to the people there.." He finished the food he made himself, getting up and leaving the chamber with a hopeful look in his eyes. He hadn't left the castle in a while, so he was wondering how the villagers were doing. They were his only resolution right now. His only Spark of human contact. He wandered down the empty halls, out of the castle's courtyard, crossing the rusty gate and walking into the village. „huh..? Where.. where is everyone..?" he asked himself, as he found the once bustling village Empty. Drained of life and empathy.. a former shell of what it once was. „Where did everybody go..? Did they.. did they leave..?" He wandered through the deserted streets, not a single soul in sight. Everything looked like it was used just recently, and yet.. so out of my place. „Helloooooo? Anyone there..?" he called into an abandoned alleyway, only to be met with the sound of silence, occasionally interrupted by the sound of water dropping from a broken pipe. „Did.. did I sleep so long, everyone left..? No.. They must be somewhere..!" he picked up the pace, running around the seemingly endlessly repeating streets, searching and calling for anyone. „Hello?! Anyone there? I.. H-Hello?!" he continued his aimless wandering, feeling like he was stuck in the past, a mere burnt out memory of what he once knew.. „H-HELLO?! P-PLEASE, ANYONE! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE! PLEASE..!" his calls remained unanswered, as he slowly came to his knees, devestated. Tears running down his cheeks, occasionally hearing the average crow cawing in raspy voices. Cawing, as if trying to communicate, Calling to him. Charlie remained on his knees, crying out his heart and soul. Eventually, he wiped the tears from his eyes, sobbing slightly. „I-I'm such a terrible leader.." in the next moment, he looked up, finding himself surrounded by seemingly hundreds of crows. Silently watching, judging him. „W-What..? H-How.. Where did all these crows come from..?" the large crowd of crows Cocked their heads, staring at him, judging silently. Some occasionally cawing. With others joining in as well.. before eventually all of the crows were cawing, getting louder and louder, sounding like voices.. angry, disappointed voices. „S-Shut up..! Stop..! L-leave! Leave me alone! Stop..!" the voices became louder, chanting and yelling, casting judgement onto him. He covered his ears from the increasing volume. „JUST LEAVE ME ALONE..!?" he got up, and ran. And ran. And ran. As fast as he could. Yet the crows caught up, floating above him, circling him like prey, their voices like a thunder storm roaring. „I SAID LEAVE ME ALONE?!" he yelled in frustration, as he pulled out his rapier, swinging it into the air, trying to hit some of the crows unlucky enough to fly lower than the others. „LEAVE!? J-JUST LEAVE!?" He'd yell in anger, tears streaming down his face once more. After a few moments of hopelessly swinging his blade in the air, he ran into the castle building, hiding away in his room. He closed the door behind him, throwing his sword onto the ground and flopping onto his bed, crying once more. Finally, he had reason to let out all his emotions, All his stress, all his pent up fear that had been built up all these years, boiling inside him. This went on for hours, cuddling up into his blanket, clinging to it like his life depended on it. After a while, he looked up, tears still in his eyes, silently whispering to himself.
„W-Why is it like this..? W-why... why do they all hate me..?" he sobbed silently into his pillow. As he then felt a hand resting on his head, patting him. He heard his long passed mothers voice, whispering to him. „Hush.. calm down, my child.. it will all be okay.." he turned to the direction of the voice, his eyes sparking in hope, as he saw his deceased mother in front of him. „M-Mother..?" he stammered out, getting up from the bed and walking toward the ghost like figure. „Come here, my child.. let me ease your worries.." he walked toward her, and sunk to his knees, hugging the ghostly figure. „Shhhh.. there, there.." he sobbed silently, his breathing slowly settling upon feeling the gentle touch of the person who had cared for him forever, with patience and all the love to give. „M-Mother.." he stammered, only to be hushed by his mothers soft toned whisper. „Shhhh.. don't speak.. Rest.." he did as asked, focusing on his breathing and slowly calming down. „M-Mother..?" „Yes, My child..?" „I-I.. feel like I-I'm In danger.." „Worry not, my child.. your conscience weighs heavily, and your brain is clouded.. just sleep.." after those words, he looked up, only to see she was gone. „..." He took her advice, and went to bed. Sliding underneath the covers, and closing his eyes. — During his sleep, he didn't find rest. His dreams plagued by nightmares. He writhed and squirmed underneath his blanket. His eyes shot open, his forehead drenched in sweat, gasping loudly. „GAH!" his eyes darted around the chamber, realizing it was just a dream. „..." he turned to his Open chamber window, the moon shining bright and the stars visible.. „It was.. it was just a dream.." he layed back down, and closed his eyes, with yet another pitiful attempt of sleeping.
