XAVIER'S head bopped along to jeezy's 'i do', eyes pinned onto the cellular device he held in hand as he sat quietly in the passenger seat of angel's ride. his eyes shifted upward every now and then to see how far away he was from the house, but they mostly stayed on his phone, avoiding any kind of eye contact with angel.
things were fine between the two until this morning. xavier started getting in his head about what had happened the previous night, and it chagrined him deeply. angel noticed his energy, not thinking much of it at first, and kind of shrugged it off. it didn't really start bothering her until they got in the car. the tension was so thick to where a blade couldn't even cut through it in one go. the entire ride, she was left asking herself if she did something to discomfort him.
they arrived to cameron's place, and angel shifted the gears to put the car in park. xavier turned off his phone and opened the car door, stepping out and pulling up his pants that sagged below his hips. he could feel angel's eyes follow every move he made.
"see you later." he told her, and she just sat there in silence while nibbling on her bottom lip, glare breaking not once. "um, stay safe out there. you can let me know when you get home."
"..get back in the car for a minute." her words stopped him from closing the door and made him freeze for a few seconds.
"why?"
she didn't answer his question, but sat there, waiting on him to get back in the car. he sighed in his head, opening the door a little wider so he could get back inside. the short period of silence between them was killing him. each second felt like a minute, maybe half an hour.
"did I do somethin'? like.. somethin' to upset you or.." she trailed off and earned a head shake from him, but she felt as if she was bring deceptive due to how he still wouldn't make eye contact with her. "so what's the matter?"
