7:50 A.M., on the streets of Florence
As I walk the cobblestone streets of Florence with a skip in my step, I admire the bustling city, seeing the vibrant art and rich culture it offered. I slowly approach my new school, I feel like everything around me is so new and unfamiliar. But as I take in the sight of the large campus, I also feel a tingle of excitement, knowing that I am stepping into a new chapter in my life.
8 A.M., School
As I walk into the halls of my new school I can feel eyes all over me. There are too many people around me. I feel like I'm drowning. The route until the principal's office feels like a deep maze. The more I walk, the more I feel hypnotized by the never ending halls. Suddenly I feel like I can't breathe. It seems like my breaths are limited and I'm about to run out of them. I already want to get out of here. In an instant, I feel a hand gently tapping my exposed shoulder. I quickly turn around seeing a charming and enchanting blonde boy.
"Hi, you seem lost. I've never seen you around here before. Are you new?"
He asks me in a calm manner and puts on the brightest smile I have ever seen, revealing his pretty dimples."Hello, yeah I'm new, is it that obvious?"
I reply awkwardly, forcing a smile."Kind of."
He replies slightly laughing."What do you need help with?"
He asks curiously."I have trouble with finding the principal's office. Could you please show me where it is?"
I answer appealingly."Sure, it's right there"
He says pointing to the large, white door with his finger."Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!"
I exclaimed.Happy and relieved that I managed to talk to someone, I head to the office. After gaining my week program, I step out of the office, finding the same guy that helped me standing, in front of me.
For some reason I feel different. I sense something I only felt while reading romance. Something I thought I would never experience. I detect maybe a connection between us. For some reason I feel like I can't move. My head, my arms, my legs and my eyes are just simply stuck in one place. For a moment it seemed like he was the only one there. The rest of the people looked like colorful dots as I continued to stare at him.I snap back to reality as soon as I catch his voice saying:
"I apologize if I scared you ealier. I just wanted to help somebody out. I'm not usually the kind of person to socialize easily, but today I felt—""Different."
We both acknowledged at the same time. The bell rings, we have to go to class. To my surprise he was in the same class as me, so we started talking.
"So, what do you think about the campus? Is it what you expected?"
He added."I do like the new campus,"
I comment taking in the view of the campus,
"I feel like there are a lot of opportunities here for me to explore and grow as a person.""Glad you like it. Trust me, this campus is really fun!"
He mentioned with excitement.I nod and smile.
"By the way, you didn't tell me your name..."
I say, my tone a little silvery."Oh! My name is Lorenzo."
He laughs and scratches the back of his neck."Nice!"
I give him a thumbs up.Why did I do that.
I don't know what to say or do when a person introduces themselves to me, it's almost like my brain causes me to act awkward and reply with cliche and simple answers. What am I supposed to say? Your name is truly enchanting. It carries with it an air of elegance and sophistication, summoning recollections of past eras of royalty and nobility. It exudes poise and grandeur, like a well-crafted necklace crafted from precious jewels and metals. I must confess, that upon hearing it, I found myself quite bewitched.
