One evening, as you walked home together, Aki suddenly stopped. "Do you want to see something beautiful?" he asked out of the blue. Before you could respond, he was leading you through a series of alleys and side streets.
You ended up on the rooftop of a tall building, overlooking the city. The view was breathtaking — a sea of lights under the starry sky. Aki stood beside you, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
"It's easy to forget that there's beauty in this world," he said softly. "Especially in our line of work."
His vulnerability in that moment struck a chord in you. You saw the weariness he carried, the weight of loss and duty. You reached out, placing a hand over his. He stiffened for a second, then relaxed, his hand turning to gently squeeze yours.
