Chapter 2

Mm, I guess I'll get the most annoying part over with so I don't constantly have to feel the dread of having to do it later. I'll start with Ein. I begin making my way over to Ein's house, hoping that the cat isn't his for obvious reasons. I knock on his door a few times, waiting for a response before speaking. Nothing. I knock again, this time making my presence known.

"Hey Ein, are you home?" I ask. Still nothing. He's probably too focused on counting his gold or something to notice me. Only one solution left.

"EIN, QUIT COUNTING YOUR GOLD AND GET OUT HERE!" I yell, earning a bunch of loud crashing and banging noises coming from inside. It could've sounded more goofy if there was the sound of a cat added inbetween the sounds of chaos. Would've been an odd coincidence too- Finally Ein opens the door, looking pretty disheveled.

"Aphmau, wha- I was in the middle of counting my gold, what do you want!?" He angrily yells at me, leaning on his doorframe. Called it.

"Ein, did-... Did you fall down the stairs??" I ask, trying not to laugh.

"That doesn't matter! What's SOO important that you had to interrupt my gold counting!?" He continues trying to burst my eardrums, either assumingly as payback for almost bursting his or because me startling him and causing him to fall down the stairs put him in a really bad mood. But he does yell alot so I guess it's nothing out of the ordinary really.

"OKAY okay stop yelling, sheesh!" He was about to protest but I cut him off. Yes, on purpose. "Know what? I'll make this fast for both our sakes, how's that sound? So do you own a cat or not? Or used to?" I ask Ein, but the question only made him visibly more annoyed.

"Really, You came over here just to annoy me over a friggin cat!? Well no, I don't have one! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to counting my precious gold." He snaps, and slams the door in my face.

"Wow, rude. Atleast the cat's not his. Wait, how does he count gold when he probably doesn't even now how to count at all? I know he doesn't know how to read or spell, but now I'm wondering if he can even count properly. Eh, he probably only counts in threes. Now that that's done and over with, I need to figure out who I'm gonna ask next." I think aloud to myself as I head back towards the center of the hub.

So my current options are Zane, Aaron and Noi. I honestly don't think Zane or Aaron would own a cat. Aaron's a dog person, so I don't think he'd own one, and Zane's always so focused on his sciene and stuff, I don't think he would care about getting a pet since it would probably just be a distraction to him.

Noi, well... I've only seen him care for farm animals and dogs, except for those times where I turned into cookie cat, and pizza cat. Wait no, he did own a cat once, but it ended up dying... (For those who don't understand, I'm referencing the video where Aphmau was sugarskull kitty. But as far as I remember, the video showed an AU of her already being sugarskull cat and not eating a cookie to become it. Correct me if I'm wrong.) I guess Noi would be the most likely owner, but I should still ask the others. And Kim could also be a likely owner since she's a witch, and witches love cats, right?

I take a break from my thoughts, and immediately realize I'm already at Aaron's house! Did I seriously pass the well and walk all the way here while lost in thought? I shouldn't be surprised anymore, but I am still kinda shocked that I didn't run into or trip over anything. And there he is, sitting by the edge of the pond, fishing rod in hand, that hot, calm expression on his cute face- Wait, ugh, I don't know if I can do this... Maybe I'll check with someone else first, it was silly of me to think he has a cat in the first place, so I should just-

"Oh, hey Aph."

I tense up at the sound of Aaron's voice greeting me. I slowly turn back around and see Aaron facing me now with a smile. I nervously greet back, smiling as well.
