Daisy's POV
It hurt to have to fend for Juna on her own again so quickly, but if Coulson wanted to talk to me it had to be done.We walked silently down the halls to Coulson's office until May, who had also come along, arrived, breaking the silence. "What were you thinking letting her out, Daisy!" she said harshly. "More than you when you locked her up!" I returned just as harshly. "Okay, time out," Coulson interrupted us. "Daisy, that's irresponsible, but I still think she could be helpful." Coulson continued. As he spoke, he handed me the file on the "Secret Warriors." "I think she's a good addition to your team Daisy," he said. "To a team that so far only consists of me," I said with some reproach. "Not anymore," said May. "First, she's a child. Second, what if she doesn't want to?" I listed two of my concerns. "And third, what if she works for Hydra. We know they "collect Inhumans," May continued my concerns. "For all of these reasons, I want Daisy to check her thoroughly. Give her a lie detector test and become her SO. If she doesn't want to or doesn't behave, she'll be turned into a Brought to a children's home, but we all know what will happen to her there. I also want her to learn to control her powers," replied Coulson. I nodded more or less in agreement and May also admits defeat. "I'm going back to Juna," I said and left the room. Shortly afterwards May came too. "Do you have any idea how you want to teach her this power thing?" she asked me. "Somehow I'll manage it," I tried to cheer myself up more than her. When we got to Juna, she had a blue gib on one hand and a bandage on the other. "How long will it take to heal?" I asked Simmons. She caught herself looking up from her first aid kit and that's when I saw it. There was a burn on her forearm. May noticed it too and quickly walked towards Simmons. "Was that her?" May asked angrily and pointed at Juna, who was sitting silently in her chair. "Yes, but," Jemma started, but was interrupted by May, who darted forward to Juna and wanted to hit her. However, I was faster and stood protectively in front of Juna. "It was a mistake May and if you need someone to blame, take me," Jemma shouted, visibly upset. May put her arm down and wanted to walk out of the room, but I wanted to talk to her so I stopped her. "May we can talk for a moment ?" I asked with a hand on her shoulder. She just nodded disapprovingly and then walked with me into one of the hallways. "So ? " she asked uninterestedly. "We're not in Bahrain, May. Juna will become part of S.H.I.E.L.D." I said. May looked down, caught. Then she looked at me again. "I want you to do a good job as SO with her. "I don't want things to be like in Bahrain," she told me and left.
POV Juna
After Daisy left with Agent May, me and Jemma were alone again. "I apologize for Agent May's actions," she said after tending to her burn. "I'll take you to a room. Daisy will be back shortly," I just nodded again. Jemma started off and I hurried after her. Daisy joined us on the way. "When can she start training?" Daisy asked Jemma. "In two weeks if it's quick," she answered, but I had another question about what kind of training. When Jemma opened a door and told me it was now my room, I was a little more confused. My room ? Training? Jemma left the room and Daisy and I were alone. "You're probably pretty confused about everything here," she said, gesturing for me to sit on the bed next to her. "First of all, I want to tell you that you can stay. However, to do that you would have to become part of the Secret Warriors. That is a group of Inhumans like you," she explained to me. "Inhuman?" I asked her. "Um... What's the best way to explain this... okay, simply explained: Many years ago, a species called the Kree came to Earth. They made humans part of their Kree people. "To build DNA. This ensures that you get these powers." She looked over at me to see how I was processing it. "Then I'm an alien?" I asked. She had to smile and nodded. "At least to a certain extent" you have to let that kind of information sink in first. "It's already late. First go to sleep, tomorrow I'll wake you up and explain everything you want to know, okay?" she asked. I could only nod. "Clothes are in the closet. Good night," she said before she went out of the room and left me alone. I got up and went to the closet. The room wasn't particularly big. A bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. In the closet were pants my size, sweaters, t-shirts, underwear, a few shoes and pajamas. All of them were dark blue and had a logo that had an eagle or something on it. I grabbed one of the pajamas, took off my old, dirty clothes and put these on instead. They were the first new clothes in more than a year.
- Timeskip to the next morning -
I was startled awake by a knock on the metal door. Before I could say anything, the door opened. Daisy came through the door and sat on a chair, smiling gently. "How did you sleep ?" she asked me. I thought about whether I could trust her or whether I would just say the most reassuring thing. I decided on the second. "Good," I answer her. "So my first night here was probably all but not good. How did you really sleep?" She asked me in a calm voice. "Ehem... I-I... I woke up a lot..." I stuttered to myself. However, she no longer insisted that she would catch me lying, but continued talking straight away. "You can get dressed first and then we can go down to breakfast. May doesn't look like it, but she can make good pancakes." She said. What are pancakes I thought to myself as I got up and went to the cupboard. I took a pair of shoes, pants and a sweater. My arms have a lot of scars from burns and the training I did. I was just about to pull my pajamas over my head when I remembered that Daisy was still sitting on the chair in my room. "Ehem..." was the only thing I could manage. However, she seemed to understand me just as well as yesterday and stood up. "Come out when you're ready!" She said before she let the door close. I jumped briefly at the noise, but quickly pulled myself together so as not to set the whole room on fire. I took my clothes back, got rid of my current ones and changed. When I was finished I looked down at myself. S.H.I.E.L.D. Logos everywhere. They took me in more or less voluntarily. I still wasn't sure who I could trust and slowly but surely my thoughts drifted more away from S.H.I.E.L.D. to Hydra. The months of training, the torture, the kidnapping.
All the memories came flooding back at once. The pain when she said she had killed my family because of my attempts to escape. At some point I simply accepted my fate with Hydra and gradually became a better and better fighter. I was brought back to reality by a touch on the shoulder. Daisy sat in front of me with a worried look in her eyes. I was crying and had limited control over my strength."Hey, is everything okay?" she asked me. I just looked at her with tears in my eyes and nodded. Then I got up and wanted to leave, but Daisy stopped me. "Wait ! You don't even know where we have to go!" she said with a gentle smile and pushed me in the direction of the hallway. As she pushed me into a room, I smelled something I've never smelled before. She steered me to a table. I deliberately sat on the chair as far away from everyone else as possible. But just a few seconds later, Dr. Simmons pushed her plate next to me and changed seats. "How was the first night?" she asked me. "It's fine " I answered briefly, but she continued talking. "Your hand should be fine again in two weeks. Then you can start training and-" "Okay Simmons, don't confuse her any more," Daisy interrupted. She sat down on the chair opposite me and pushed a plate of round discs of dough towards me. "Here for you," she said and started to eat. I took the fork in my uninjured hand and picked at the things. "What are you doing?" Daisy asked me after a few minutes. "Ehem... I-I" was the only thing I could manage . "The pancakes are really good. I hope you like Nutella," she said.
Little by little I ate a few bites. It tasted good but somehow I couldn't continue eating it. I put the fork on the plate and just started into nothing. Do I deserve all of this? Should I tell Daisy the truth or should I keep it to myself for a bit? All these questions ran through my mind until Daisy asked me a question. "Are you ready yet?" I nodded in response. She cleared the plates away and then came back to me. "Unfortunately, I have a mission right away. If you promise me to make an effort to keep your powers under control, you can go to the lab with Simmons." I just nodded again in response and stood up. She hugged me out of nowhere, which made me a little scared. However, it was...pleasant in a way. "We'll see each other again tomorrow at the latest," she said and then left.
