(This au includes all of the main characters even after the certain events they have gone through in their games, the only difference is that instead they're in the 1960's like how Dead Plate originally is. This includes some gore and some spoilers to whoever hasn't finished the games so don't read if you haven't. Also the plot goes differently obviously and slower than the actual game and most of the events happen on Rody's second week of work instead.)
(Also their ages here are Rody: 27, Protag: 24, Angelica: 25, Augustine: 19, Vince: 28, Manon: 26, Coworker: 25, Winnie: 19, Forcas: Unknown but is described as an older man)
Rody has been working at a new job at a restaurant, his manager has been acting pretty weird but he's now used to it. He was planning to work for a week but his manager Vincent insisted he stayed a little longer due to his great service.
One day Vincent calls him over to his office after he had just arrived at work.
"Good morning Rody. I'd like to inform you that I took your advice of BEGGING me to hire more waiters and I actually did. They will be having their interview today, be nice enough and guide them around the restaurant, will you?" Vincent said with an apathetic tone as always, not even excited or anything for the new employees.
Rody responded enthusiastically "FINALLY! You decided to listen to me for once! I'll be sure to greet them when they come."
Before Rody leaves Vincent also mentions "You know this stage that we've built the past few days? We'll be also having a singer joining us as well."
"Oh alright then" Rody responds and walks out of his office, waiting for the new employees to come.
A few minutes after Rody can hear the restaurant's door open. A short blonde woman in a not so revealing red dress walks in the restaurant, looking around a bit stressed. Rody approaches her and asks her
"Hello ma'am, the restaurant hasn't opened yet, you can come back in a few minutes."
The woman replied with a nervous tone "Oh, I'm here for an interview to be the singer of this restaurant."
Rody looks slightly embarrassed from his stupidity "OH- yes uh- the manager's office is down this hall and as you enter the kitchen it's the first door on the left."
"Alright, thank you!" She replied back and walked off a bit awkwardly.
Angelica knocked on the office's door, Forcas was right behind her, reassuring her to not be so stressed since it's just a job interview. (Forcas can't be seen by the human eye or anyone else other than Angelica..or can he? Not at the moment though) Once Vincent answers she opens the door and steps into the office, being greeted by him and then afterwards asked some questions as the interview has started.
Afterwards when the interview ends he officially hires her and tells her that Rody can show her around the stage and help her with any other questions.
Once Angelica exits the office she sighs, Forcas quickly comments on the meeting
"See? It wasn't that bad, you shouldn't have stressed so much lady. Although I will admit, that manager guy has a weird energy coming from him.."
"I'm glad you noticed that too." She whispered back to him as they both walked back into the main restaurant to find Rody.
As soon as she walks up to him another person walks into the restaurant. It was a tan short man with black hair and square glasses in a waiter suit just like Rody's. He quickly walked up to them and asked
"Am I late??" He said anxiously.
"No you're actually way too early." Rody chuckled to himself. "If you're also here for an interview the manager's office is down this hall and as you enter the kitchen it's the first door on the left."
"Thanks!" The shorter man rushed quickly to the kitchen and went inside the manager's office to have his interview as well. Leaving Angelica and Rody alone again
"Well, my name is Rody, what's yours?" Rody decides to speak as he notices the awkwardness between them.
"I'm Angelica, nice to meet you" She responded back "Mr Vincent told me that you'll be able to help me with the stage, right?"
"I mean I don't know much.. but I can try helping I suppose." Rody shrugged as they walked to the stage to look around and figure out some stuff.
After a while the black haired man walks back into the main restaurant and walks up to the stage awkwardly as well
"Oh hey! How did your interview go?" Rody asked
"It went alright, I got hired so-" He says in a slightly thorny tone
Rody feels even more awkward and decides to introduce himself again "I'm Rody and this is Angelica. Are you going to be a waiter here as well?"
"Yeah I am." he said in a hopeful tone "My name is Chase Beckley, nice to meet you both." (this is Protag if you can't tell)
"Nice to meet you too" They both replied back to him
Before their shift starts a young man rushes in to the restaurant. He was quite short and he had brown hair and the same clothing as Rody and Protag. The man looked hardly older than 18 in their eyes, he ran over at them and asked them
"Am I late?! Have the customers come over yet?-" He was stuttering as he spoke as he was in a rush.
Rody explains to him that their shift should be soon as well tell him the directions to the manager's office. The man runs in the office quickly to have his interview.
When he comes out of the office, officially hired as well their shift has actually started and he doesn't get the time to introduce himself as they get straight to work.
The day was average, there weren't a lot of customers that day as they expected. Maybe there will be more the next days, who knows.
Vincent comes out of his office to congratulate everyone except Rody on their first day, he then tells them that they should share the tips in the jar equally and left. His tone was apathetic once again which confused the rest of them, meanwhile Rody was used to it.
They look into the jar, the money wasn't exactly enough for everyone to share
The younger man complained "What tips? The only thing I see here are flies and spiders!" He said, his voice full of sass and sarcasm.
"Well at least it's better than nothing." Rody replied as he took out the money from the jar and started giving each a fair amount of it.
"Oh yeah we didn't catch your name" Protag turned to the younger man
The younger man introduced himself as Augustine, afterwards the rest of them introducing themselves as well.
Rody then asks if anyone else is going to stay over to take some leftovers since Vincent lets them. Angelica then decides to respond
"I mean I can, I don't have anything planned after work and I'm not in the mood to cook so.."
The rest of them politely declined the offer since they had things to do after work and soon enough everyone left.
Day 1 Shift Complete!
