If I Loved You Properly

Hey, Basil...

BASIL POV:

As I got out of bed, I heard the sound of a car pull up. I looked out my window...Sunny? 

SUNNY'S BACK?!

I put on some clothes, and just started to water my flowers. Even though I loved Sunny, I thought so many times before: Does he love me back? If he did love me...Maybe the daffodils would stop making my throat hurt and tickle...It feels so strange when it does...

I go to say hello to Sunny, who was just getting out the car...until I hugged him so tight, he fell back onto the car seat. I did miss him...maybe a bit too much. ¨Hey, Basil...¨ Sunny said, trying to smile. I liked to see him smile. He looked cu-no, natural when he smiled at people.

¨Hey, Sunny!!!¨ I hugged him so tight, he didn't have time to think about what to do. He almost fell off the sidewalk, but I caught him just in time. 

¨Just so you know Sunny, you are gonna stay at Basil's house, ok?¨ 

Sunny's mom said. He just looked at her, and nodded, before going into my house. It feels so weird for your best friend, that you like, to just be in your house.

Weirder than the tickling I feel in my throat right now.

As we get inside the house, a few drips of blood ran down my mouth. Sunny looked at me, concerned and his eyes were widened. ¨B-Basil?!¨ Sunny looked at my mouth, as I looked at him, confused. ¨Sunny? Is there something-¨ I felt the urge to throw up as I rushed to the bathroom. I threw up...Daffodils...covered in blood.

The stench of blood was overwhelming, as Sunny came into the Bathroom. I turned away. ¨I-Basil, are you okay?¨ Sunny was worried about me. ¨I'm fine!¨ Sunny knew that wasn't true, he could see right through the lie. He hugged me tightly.

¨Basil...¨

Sunny is so kind and gentle, while I just hide the truth from everybody...

He liked me...
