Another week passed and it was the day of the bonfire. During this week my dad got me a new phone, which I immediately got my dad, Bella, and jacob to give me their numbers. Jacob coincidentally had gotten a new phone as well a couple of days before me.
Bella even gave me Alice's number because she wanted to contact me a little later to talk about bridesmaid dresses and then Alice just gave me the rest of the Cullens number as a 'just in case'. The way she said it made me cock my head to the side. It was like she was warning me about something. Yet I just nodded my head and ignored it growing accustomed to Alice's oddities.
I also got a couple more outfits and small non-pink decorations for my still mostly pink room. I was starting to settle in yet, I was still a bit upset that I haven't gotten anymore memories since last week. Charlie kept trying to reassure me and it helped a little but I still wanted to make more progress.
Currently Bella was at the Cullens trying on shoes for her wedding, well at least that's what Alice told me and my dad was still at work. That's when I got a call and I quickly answered after seeing who it was, "hello Jay's number one friend on Jacob's Awesome and Badass Tier of Best Friendship Level speaking."
Jacob groans on the other side of the line, "I thought you said you never repeat that to anyone?"
I laugh, "right but you not JUST anyone you are THE Jacob of the Jacob's Awesome and Badass Tier of Best Friendship Level so you don't count," I joke.
"Just get your butt out here Elle," I can almost feel the eye roll through the phone.
"Alright, alright, I'm going," I hang up the phone and grab my bag off the counter. I sent a text to my dad that Jacob picked me up in his car and got on the back of his bike. What he won't know won't hurt him...
"You ready?" He asks as soon as I say behind him.
"Hold on," I click the helmet buckle in place and wrap my arms around his torso, "Now I'm ready."
He laughs as he starts his bike. We get to the Rez pretty fast and the beach is filled with a lot of people I've never seen before. I take off my helmet but when Jacob starts walking towards everyone I stay by his bike.
It's only when he's about ten feet away from me that he notices I'm not following and comes back, "hey what's wrong?"
"N-nothing just um... your bikes pretty cool did you give it a paint job," I try to mask my nerves.
Jacob smiles as he sees right through me and stretches one of his hands out, "come on, it's ok, it will be fun, promise."
I take a deep breath before grabbing his hand, "and good food to?"
He laughs, "yeah good food too," he tugs softly on my hand and I slowly follow him.
He says hi to a few people I don't know but then we get to the bonfire and everyone around it is a familiar face. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, "hey guys!"
"Tara!" A few of the say before they noticed me and Jacob were holding hands and look back at Paul. He had his normal annoyed and angry face as he looked at Jacob who suddenly let go of my hand and sat on one of the logs that surrounded the flame furthest from me.
I frowned but then just sat next to Leah, "hey, sorry we didn't get to talk much last time we saw each other."
"It's alright, you're good. Things can get pretty hectic around here."
I smile and was about to reply when Jacob's father cleared his throat. He greeted me and I waved shyly not being formally reintroduced to him. Meanwhile Emily passed some food around to everyone: hot dogs, burgers, and even some supplies to make s'mores.
