Indigo Roberts - 2:54 PM - Target
"Momma I don't need all this" I laugh as she fills the cart up with school supplies. "I just need to make sure everything's perfect for my baby's first day back to school" she says, dropping a 24 pack of crayons into the cart.
"Mom I don't need crayons my Junior year" I shake my head, putting them back on the shelf.
"Go over and pick 8 folders out." She points to the wall of folders and I pick pastel colors.
"Are you excited for school baby!" my mom smiles, shaking me lightly. "Yeah I'm excited. I'm just a lil nervous too" I shrug, following behind her and the cart.
"You want some of these pook?" she picks up the Ensure Protein Milkshakes. "You think it's time to start gaining weight?" she asks another question and I nod.
I love myself, I just wish I had more body. Like Violet.
"I think I might start going to the gym, or playing a sport" I shrug. "I think we should get that cleared with Dr. Clemmons, sweetie." she says hesitantly.
"Okay" I shrug again as my mom puts two packs of milkshakes into the cart.
"This bill finna be hell" I laugh and my mom flashes my dad's credit card. "To who?"
When we get back home, my dad was waiting for me. "You got everything you need?" he asks.
"Yeah, I got everything. I'm kinda nervous though.." I trail off.
"It ain't nothing to be worried about my love. You so smart, and you're ahead in school. This should be a breeze."
"Yeah, you're right" I say, more assured. "Another package came in for you. Two of them actually" he points towards the door.
"My lashes and my wig! I'm gonna look so fye tomorrow" I squeal, picking the packages up.
"What's wrong with the one I bought you last week?" he raises his eyebrow.
"Daddd. It just doesn't give first day of school. Can Violet come over?" I ask, opening the package to the auburn wig with blonde highlights.
This is so cute. I'm about to look so pretty for my first day.
"I don't care. What I do care about is how much money you're spending on wigs. And lashes" he says, on his phone.
"But I just wanna look pretty" I frown. "Mhmm. Let me know if you need another one" he rolls his eyes and I smile, texting Violet to come over.
I go upstairs, getting all my potential outfits together for tomorrow.
"Wassup cousinn" Violet comes through the door.
"Heyy. Look at my wig!" I point over towards it. "That's so cute cuhz. You gone look so good tomorrow. You should be excited."
"I am. Halfway nervous halfway excited" I take the rubbing alcohol and start to remove the curly wig I had on.
