Chapter 2

Alaras POV

(Present time after carriage ride and time skip few days)

The summer palace was almost fully decorated for the ball. Meanwhile me and Nicholas, did not had fun AT ALL, Father forced more society rules and regulations on us for the past 2 days. I had 19 tutors in the last 2 days teaching me how to act like a 16 yr old Queen. 

I finish my last tutor session and then go to my bedroom. To my surprise i walk into my bedroom, and there waiting for me, is my handmaid margaret,
my professional seamstress valerie,
my brother(smiling?) on a pedestal getting fitted by his tailor Jonathan,
The butler, and 3 other people i didn't recognise.
"umm margaret what is going on"? i ask very startled and confused.
" It's your official dress Fitting" she replied looking confused as to why i asked.
" right yes but who are they" I ask referring to the 3 strangers stood by my desk.

"They are fashion designers, come to help me to design your outfit, I have brought the best in the land for you, meet Loyd, Flur and Jamison". I looked over at the three strangers at the side of my room. They looked a bit suspicious.
The first one, Loyd, was wearing a black suit like thing and was holding a clipboard with a green pen which he was chewing the end of.
The middle one, Flur, was wearing a beautiful black dress with gold lace and wearing gold high heels that held her up in an important figure while still looking friendly and welcoming and jamison (looking very feminine) with his nails painted black, had a very focused look on his face which broke when i asked them " right then, shall we get this over with?"

(Time skip 8 hours)

After 7  hours of measuring, cutting, fitting into dresses and being stabbed with "safety pins" i was finally allowed to go to bed.

...NO ONES POV (Nightmare)...

Henry do you take Princess Alara to be your lawfully wedded wife.

"I .. do".. prince henry says 

.. and Alara 'do you take Prince Henry of lucuidor to be your lawfully wedded husband'

"Ummm, uh well i don't know"
(Audience Gasp)
Murmuring is heard from all around the church.
King avnar bursts out of the audience and shouts to alara "YOU WILL MARRY PRINCE HENRY. YOU BETTER SAY I DO RIGHT NOW OR....

(end of nightmare) 

Alaras pov

I awoke with a start, sweating and unable to breathe. I looked around after gaining control of my lungs, my head was spinning and my vision was blurry, i glanced around the room and saw that it was just a nightmare. I felt my heart thudding in my chest like a hammer trying to smash its way through glass. I felt fragile and vulnerable.

After I had regained vision, i looked around the room, i controlled my breath and my chest didn't feel tight anymore. I sat up in bed and turned on the nightlight. I pulled out my draw beside my bed and looked for my mother's necklace. She had given it to me when I turned old enough to wear my tiara. 

It was a silver chain, on it a silver pendant in the shape of a heart, inside the silver case for it was a light blue diamond half of a heart, and the other half an orange amber.
300 years sailors were looking for it all over the world and when they found it it was given to the daughter of the king of Elendor (princess laria, my mother). she married my father, the prince of Auderon. The gem is said to measure true love to the wearer by glowing green if your near your soulmate but, if the two halves are ever separated then it is to protect the wearer with the orange half and give luck to the lover with the blue.

They call it The Twilight Heart. According to the legend it was created by Luna the Goddess of the Moon, when she fell in love with Alectrona the Goddess of the Sun. The two were forbidden to love each other, as both were female and opposite to each other. Their love was so passionate it almost exploded with love fire and attraction, when the two came together only during sunrise and sunset it was said that you could feel their love for one another when the two intertwined with each other.

However Nemesis the goddess of Jealousy poisoned luna with a glass of wine laced with dreamshade the deadliest slow killing poison in the land. Alectrona had to watch her lover die. She stayed by her side till her last breath, but just before luna died she created with the last of her powers and Alectrona's tears of true love, the Crepusculum Cor. Latin for the Twilight Heart. They say if you are silent and hold the gem up to the sun as it sets, you can still hear Alectrona crying for her soulmate as she watches the memories that luna Encapsulated safe in the gem before she died.

I held the silver pendant close to my heart and felt my mother's spirit tell me everything was going to be ok. I always wore that pendant after she died. I miss my mother dearly and the pendant makes me feel closer to her. I knew if i married a stupid stuck up prince i would have to give him the Twilight Heart. I intended to never do that. I placed the necklace back in the draw beside my bed and took out my book.
I read 3 chapters of my book before feeling tired again. I put my book back and snuggled back down into my bed and drifted of to sleep again. Before i fell asleep, i thought about the events of that day and reflected back on the dress fitting. I thought about how i was prodded and poked with pins, and how i couldn't breathe in my corset, and when i looked over to nicholas he was smiling but trying to hide it. I think i even saw him blush when his tailor was taking the inseam.
I thought his behaviour was very odd that day, but it's always odd these days anyway. Nevermind.

Evelyn's POV

I cast my line out into the water and waited for the fish to bite. nothing. so after a while i gave up and did some hunting. i felt like having pig so i tried hunting down a boar. but as i was coming up to one suddenly an arrow came flying past me and shot the defenseless creature before i could. i ducked behind a rock and heard horses galloping past the rock i was behind. i could hear men shouting "that's another one, bag him up we need 37 more for the King's banquet". "hyah hyah". after they had rode off into the distance and i could no longer hear or see them i came out from where i was hiding. 

I tried hunting for some deer but there wasn't any so i had to eat rabbit that night. I continued with my usual routine. sword fighting slingshot practice archery practice and many other combat practises. After i bathed in the river by my treehouse i removed my cloak hung it on my logstand and got into my sheepskin blanket on a hay bale. I drifted off to sleep and dreamt of running with the wolves.
