"Mom would be so disappointed in me."

That was a common thought for Jayden.

He laid in his bed, crumbling up another photo of a failed talking stage. He made note not to consider anyone who got claimed by Hermes again.

He sighed as his half sister, Jade, walked up to his bed looking extra excited. "Sooo I heard another girl from Hermes..." she said, hoping he was still listening. But he wasn't. Jayden sighed and tiredly moved his curls out his face as he groaned at the new devils name.

"Didnt you hear about the last guy from Hermes cabin? God they're like insane over there! And DONT tell me this girls any different Jade! You're not the person I wanna hear it from." He snapped at her, throwing the crumbled photo under his bed, along with the many other torn, crumbled, wrinkled love notes and old photographs. He stood up and walked towards the door.

"You know that you don't have to be perfect right? Nothing is wrong with having a few bad relationships.." She smiled awkwardly as she took a step back, his angry figure towering over her. "Easy for you to say. You ATE your perfect lover!" Jay yelled as he stormed out the cabin. Jade sighed, letting him walk away to cool off.

Jayden took a walk into the forest, unable to have a specific spot to cool off, so many happy couples, always finding his spot. He was called Eros 2.0 by some campers. He paired everyone together like it was his job, yet, he couldn't find his own love. He was a failure. His mother would never approve right?

"How can I be the son of the goddess of love and yet I can't see it for myself? Is this how she felt when she married Hephaestus?" He said taking a rock, and tossing it at someone who he thought was another ex. It was, the shot landed, and Jayden ran away chuckling to himself quietly. "I'd rather die than have to be some Cupid remix."

He circled back towards camp, seeing his friend, Vincent. And of course what would've been a good mood, was ruined when he saw that unclaimed boy, Akira with him. They seemed...happy enough. He could tell there was tension, who do you think set them up? He rolled his eyes, envious of the sights, and just walked off.

Was there something wrong with him?

What was he missing, that everyone else seemed to have? Was he doomed to fail? Maybe he got a bad gene from his father? He couldn't make a clear solution. He had it all, the height, the looks, the charm. Yet, he couldn't find that connection. It was always a mini flame in a rain storm. Always taken out before it could shine brighter. Such rumored sparks never seemed to reach Jayden.

Anyone who seemed interested was always left with a one sided crush, and those he did like, always played him. Who can live like this? Love wasn't real to him, he didn't seem real. What was love of he couldn't find it naturally? How many more times would Jayden have to charm his interests using his ability rather than it be natural?

It was all so unfair. Never was the lover or the loved. Never got to write the love song, always sent terrible lyrics though. How unfair. He was the PERFECT son of Aphrodite. Had the style, the slick words, he even would change his personality to seem more fitting. But it wasn't enough!

"Mom would be so disappointed in me." He sighed, finding himself back in his bed, opening the next love letter sent to him. He pulled the note out, seemingly starting another cycle of failure. And yet he did it to himself willingly.
