🔥CHAPTER 9🔥
*-*Third Person's POV*-*
Meliah was hoping for a relaxing Saturday morning, but when her doorbell rang, and she found a nervous looking Lucas, standing there, she knew it wasn't a possibility.
"I need a favour." Lucas states, looking at her desperately.
"What is it?" Meliah asks, hoping it wasn't something ridiculous again.
"Can you keep Max's brother busy for a few hours?" He begs, she didn't know why he was so desperate, but she accepted.
Meliah waited outside by the arcade, when she saw Billy's car, she stood were there weren't a lot of people, so that he would be able to see her immediately.
Billy was about drive away, to one of his hook-ups after warning Max if she doesn't come out in presicely two hours, she would be walking home, but when he saw Meliah staring into nothing, he completely forgot about his hook up, honking his horn to catch her attention.
Meliah looked up, to see Billy staring at her, and with his finger he was telling her to come to him, so she did just that.
"I didn't expect to see you here sweetheart." Billy says, with a smirk on his face, with an innocent smile in his direction, she said, "i was taking a little break from walking around."
"Would you like to take a drive with me?" Billy asks, that smirk never leaving his face, but on the inside he was really hoping that she would say yes. "If you insist." She says, getting into the car. Billy didn't hesitate to speed down the road, Meliah kind of liked how fast he was going, even though she wasn't the one driving she did feel the adrenaline, it was excellerating.
"I'm surprised you aren't complaining about my driving, most girl's do." Billy states, looking towards her.
"Well, I'm not most girl's am I?" Meliah asks, her focus straight ahead.
"No, your not." Billy mutters a cigarette between his lips once again.
Billy ended up taking her to the park, but they didn't get out of the car, they only got comfortable staring out the windows.
"You know, you aren't covering those bruises very well." Meliah points out, she wasn't trying to anger him or step over the line, but it did hit a nerve.
"That's none of your god damn business, princess." Billy snaps, glaring at the side of her head. Meliah took a deep breath before turning her head towards him. "I wasn't trying to get up in your business Billy, just take this from someone who had to cover scars and bruises everyday, before I disappear." Meliah tells him honestly.
It wasn't easy to admit or say out loud that her parents abused her before she went missing, for her it was both a blessing and a curse, which was why she wasn't surprised one bit to find her parents were gone when she got saved from the Upside down.
"You were abused? Why?" Billy asked some of his anger disappearing.
"My parents always wanted a boy, but I was born a girl, which made them hate me, even more so as grew older, and the abuse got even worse as i got older, all i could do was take it, and cover it up, so that no one would find out. So when I went missing, I didn't feel fear or anything I felt relieved to be away from them." Meliah told Billy sadly staring ahead.
Billy finally understood why she wasn't afraid of him, and why she didn't treat him differently, because she was able to see right through him, past the mask he has been wearing everyday.
"My dad has always been a jackass, but it got worse after he got remarried, everything I do or say, if he doesn't like it or doesn't agree with it, he hits me, he says it's punishment for my rotten behaviour, I'm not allowed to give my opinion, the only thing that matters to him now is his new wife and her daughter." Billy says, opening up to the girl, taking a very long pull of his cigarette.
"Is that why you treat Max that way?" She asks.
"I guess, and I know it's not her fault, it's the adults, but I can't help myself...." Billy says trailing off.
"So since you can't take the crap out in your father's new wife, you take it out on a innocent little girl." Meliah states, not in a judgemental way, but in a way where she's trying to understand him a little better.
"I know I'm the biggest asshole that has ever lived." He says dramatically making the girl laugh.
Billy couldn't help, but look into her eyes, Meliah wasn't able to look away either, they didn't notice, but their bodies were moving on their own, and the next thing you know, their lips were touching, no matter how much the warning signs were going off in her head, she just kept on kissing him.
Two hours ended up going by faster then they both would have liked, but they knew it wouldn't be able to last forever.
"Want me to take you home first?" Billy asks, Meliah only shook her head with a shy reply. "No, you can just drop me off at the arcade again." And so he did just that, when she got out of his car by the arcade, he wanted to tell her to stay in the car, but his dad was expecting them to be home at any moment, and he'd rather keep her away from his father at all costs.
Looking towards the arcade he saw Max coming out, but what angered him, was to see the boy he warned her to stay away from also inside the arcade, so when the girl got in the car he immediately started questioning her, "The hell I tell you?" Billy asks.
"I'm not late." Max points out.
"You know what I'm talking about." Billy states, watching Meliah walking down the street, towards her house he presumed.
"Oh, Lucas?" Max asked, like it was no big deal. Billy only scoffed. "So he has a name now, huh?" He asks, making Max trip over her words, trying not to anger him. "It's a small town, okay? We weren't hanging out." She says, looking at her brother the entire time, who was staring out his window.
"Hmm. Well, you know what happens when you lie." He says, not looking at her once.
"I'm not lying." Max states, Billy turned to look at her, with a look clearly saying he doesn't believe her and drove off, cursing himself, for being such a dick.
