So...what I wanted to write was a one shot that was kinda depressing but I didn't want it to be the first one on here so the result is this chapter. I honestly started it and then didn't really want to finish it so if you like this sort of thing, comment and I will do a part 2.
(Sophie POV)
The bell on the door rang softly, singling to customers that someone new had arrived. Since people at this time were more focused on getting out of the sudden storm raging outside, no one seemed to notice. Even if they had, this wouldn't have been an unusual sight. Sophie Foster often came into this little shop when she wasn't on her college campus.
Many of the other students came there to study due to the short walk and caffeine, but she loved the feeling it gave her being in there. The smell, the booths, the windows that covered almost all the walls of the establishment that peaked out into the streets of New York City. The fact that an extremely cute barista worked there was just an added bonus.
"The usual, Foster?" At the sound of the voice, Sophie snapped out of her thoughts.
"Yes, thank you Keefe."
"And why may I ask, are you here this early? You don't usually get here til later."
"Midterms shall be the death of me. I don't know if I can keep going like this. Thank god break is so soon...."
(Keefe POV)
Keefe listened to Sophie talk as he made her coffee, which had become the favorite part of his day recently. As she talked, she made dramatic movements, causing her body to shift. The light hit her hair at just the right angle so that it looked like it glowed... his brain continued on like this for several more minutes before he realized he was doing it again. No matter how hard he tried, he just could not get her out of his head. Unfortunately, he also had not yet worked up the nerve to ask her out yet. Not that it wasn't going to happen...he just needed the right opportunity.
He finished making her drink and handed it to her.
"Here you go Foster."
"Oh thank you so much! What do I owe you?"
"It's on the house. Sounds like you had a rough week and I figure you could use some free coffee."
(Sophie POV)
Sophie smiled sweetly at Keefe, thanked him again, and left. As she began to sip her mocha however, she did not fail to notice that on the line that required a name for the drink, he had written: The Mysterious Miss F. She stared at that spot for a while, a slow grin growing on her face.
*Time Skip* (About a week later)
(Keefe POV)
After weeks of rain, the sun had finally come out for the day making it very cheerful in the shop. Keefe had already set aside Sophie's drink for her, anticipating her afternoon visit. He was confident today that today was the day that he would ask her out. "Nothing big or fancy" he reminded himself. "Just if she could hangout"
Despite this, when she finally did come into the coffee place, he was totally unprepared for what he saw. Following her into a booth, was a guy with strawberry blonde hair. He was slightly taller than Sophie, and the way that he was laughing and joking with Sophie showed they obviously were very comfortable with each other. When they did sit down, he sat right next to her, too close for friends. Keefe's eyes narrowed at the two. Why hadn't Sophie ever mentioned she had a boyfriend? Now that he thought about it, it made sense. He was stupid to think that with how smart and beautiful she was she would be so conveniently single.
