Kalia POV
Every day is a struggle it was like since I was born, I was always late or behind the rest. A permanent debuff. You could say the universe forgot about me, and I had to do everything for myself. So I was my own mother, father, breadwinner, protector, sibling, friend, and don't forget god. If I said it would be done, I would make sure it would be done. Forget the cost. To me, my word is everything it was all I had, so never mind what I sacrifice. It was so important to me that up till now, I've kept every promise every secret every oath and solid. I was very loyal. Maybe that's why I only had a few good friends and allies.Anyway, I just reached home and turned on the lights, not bothering to call out since I lived alone beside my cat and dog, who were the only living offspring I would willingly leave on this earth. I hung up my keys and took off my coat and boots. The coat went on a hanger and in the closet by the door. The boots I wiped whatever snow was left on it and placed on the floor in the closet. By that time, my babies came to welcome me back. It's my favorite time of the evening seeing Charlie, my white fluffy cat, sitting untop of Nero, my huge Doberman. He is really huge. I never thought he would be that big as I rescued him as a puppy on the streets. I think he's Doberman, but to be honest, he is probably more like a wolf. I opened my arms, and my kids covered me in their fluff. I felt instantly revived from work three part-time jobs to keep our roof over our heads, food, and warmth it made selling your soul to live a better life even more appealing. I made a split decision to take them on a walk and grabbed their leashes, putting on my coat and boots back on.

As I turn to leave, I grab my everything bag just in case I change my mind and stay out for a while. We walked in the city, Nero, tugging for me to walk faster. He loved to run free in the forest and hunt. Charlie was less excited as his fur got dirty easier, and he was quite the clean freak. As we reached the edge of town to the boundary separating nature from man, I took one last look into the city and all its bustling sounds. A cold wind blew in my face, prompting me to move forward and enjoy my alone time. As we got further in and I was sure no one was near us, I took off Nero and Charlie's leashes. Nero immediately ran off, enjoying the wide space and snow. Charlie also ran after him, not wanting to be left behind by his partner. I giggled as i saw them tumble and play fight in the distance. I let out a breath, the cold air condensing it immediately. Closing my eyes and tilting my head to the sky, savoring the cold, quiet peace, not having to worry about anything, and enjoying the now. I slowly opened my eyes, still looking upwards. My life was hard, but I was happy lonely at times but still happy and content. As these thoughts crossed my mind, I saw through the overcast clouds a ship of some kind decline very quickly. My eyes followed the form until it crashed in the distance. A loud thunder like a massive tree falling echoed in the empty forest. Birds fluttered upward, disturbed by the noise. A chorus of chirps filled the air. The hair on my neck started to raise, and I had a creepy feeling in my gut. Nero and Charlie, where are they, My eyes scored the landscape, but found nothing. They were smart but too curious, and I knew they had run to the sound. Shit I whispered, starting to run to the area where I saw it crash my heart beating fast. If anything happened to my boys, so help me, god, I will make sure this world burns.
