Chapter 18: "Spill the beans"

"Alright Maximus Assmus spill the beans, where are we?"

As far as y/n could tell this place was 100% NOT earth, the green aliens strolling around and the 3 moons kind of gave it away. This wasn't ideal for her as she couldn't reach out to the JL or Bruce and Clark. She needed to be careful. Maxolo was funny and carefree but she knew he was also dangerous. No one comes to earth, fights the entire JL and then uses magic to put people inside of other people's bodies (I know how it sounds DX) without having some plan...unless maybe this green bean macaroni really did just do all that for laughs?

"This is my home planet Saezton (Say-z-ton)" he said cheerfully. "I figured I'd show my bride my home before we marry~". Max turned around and faced y/n with a shit eating grin on his face. He was having too much fun. "Listen y/n I'm about to tell you a little tale about your favourite green man" he said with a little wink at the end.
"My people live for hundreds of years if not killed physically and because of that...well we often get very very bored. You may know my cousin Mxyzptlk--" she cut him off.

"YOU KNOW THAT LITTLE RAT MXYZPTLK! WHERE IS HE!" she demanded of him. "That elf ruined four of my favourite shopping stores and turned me into a fish! Do you know what it's like to be in the body of a fish!!! Not fun!" she said her anger slightly lessening as now she had to think of her as a fish....it was funny, but damn it sucked.

"AHAHAH! MY BRIDE...AHAHAHA...A FISH...that's a good one, Mxyz is very good at pranks I'll tell you that much" Maxolo added trying to stifle his laughter.
"Anyway, one poker night my cousin and I got talking about earth. It's a planet I've never been to and that Super Panty Justice Team sounded so fun to mess with. I'll admit when I first arrived on earth I had intention of mixing you up with that other reporter lady thing.."

"Lois" she said.

"Yea Lois, whatever. Anyway about me" he said. By this point Max and y/n had walked up the front of a very large, odd shaped building. As Max continued his story, he unlocked the front door and invited her inside where she eventually took a seat on the couch. Max had finished getting refreshments and joined her there finishing his tale.

"My main priority was pissing off Super Pants. Mxyz had told me that Super freak was in love with a reporter on earth. My plan was simply to annoy him into submission by turning her into a rock. A slightly sentient rock. You know, like a rock that can hear and see but nothing else".

"Fair fair" she said as she ate her werid shaped cookie. She assumed it was designed like an animal from his planet....assumed...hoped.

"But when I got there I found it wasn't Lois Sadlane but you instead he loved. So naturally I dug around and what I found about you was so intriguing I wanted to know more. A mere human on the sides of both good and bad. A neutral party who only does what she considers to be right. I've seen how you treat those at Arkham, that green haired man and the bat-"

"Batman isn't an inmate, he catches them" she added to his ramble.

"Really?" He sat questioning to himself. "Alright fair enough, Gotham is werid anyway." She nodded along with him.

"Anyway my point was that not even the Super Nerd knew he was in love with you. So I put your life in harm's way and it all seemed to connect in his head"

"Yes okay but...hm I don't know. WHY?! There are better ways to do this man" she sighed.

"Better, but not fun" he smirked. "Besides after doing some research on you I've decided that I sincerely wish you to be my bride" he calmly.

"You're joking" she said

"No"

"Like not even a little joke?" She asked almost desperately

"No" he said again. "Mating on my planet is far different than yours and for obvious reasons, so I know your dating rituals are different. I'm destructive and crazy, not stupid and blind. So I want to make you a deal"

"Oh god what" she said with a tinge of uncertainty in her voice. If Batman was considered unpredictable...that what was Maxolo considered?

"Gladiatoral fight, me and Superman. It won't be to the death as he can't kill me and as much as this farm hand aggravates me, seeing as he couldn't figure his own love life out until the threat of death of his loved one, I don't want him dead. Plus Mxyz still has plans for him. All I want is a good fight, see if he's worthy enough for you."

"And if he isn't?"

"I'll just take you back here and you'll live as a god" he said in a cheerful tone. Honestly as good as that sounded to you, this was just all so unreal. This man barely knows you and wants to marry you? But you're a betting man so why not take his deal?

"Interesting...very interesting" she said.

"I can tell by the look in your eyes you are doubting me. To you, I've only known you for a few days, but I've known you for years. Time works differently here. This wasn't a light decision made on a whim....well not a total whim".

"I'm assuming without making some type of deal you won't free Lois and you'll just keeping popping up and making life hard yes?" She asked him making eye contact.

"Yes" he said without hesitation nor blinking.

"Okay then....here's the deal. I'll speak with Clark and IF he agrees you'll battle it out but there's a change in the endgame. I don't love you, and I'm assuming by doing all this you know that. If Clark doesn't win a fair and equal contest I will accept your proposal BUT only at the end of my human life, a life mind you that has to end naturally without your interference".

"Deal!"

And just like that with a snap of his fingers y/n was back in her home, only an hour of earth time had passed.

'Guess I better call Clark" she said to herself. But just as she reached for the phone two caped men busted through her terrace door.

"Y/N WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!"

That's all I got right now but I hope it's good and makes the plot a bit more interesting. Obvi supes and y/n can't just get into a romance there's not a lot of story so I hope this adds to it. Plus Maxolo is so fun to write 😂 he's like my insert almost. The supes and y/n romance is kicking off. Anyway good reading!
