January 1, 1953.
“Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Happy New Year!” is the exact thing I just said a few moments ago… Right before Oscar kissed me on the lips. It was amazing! It was the best kiss I ever received!
Then Oscar serenaded me in his mother's native language—-Italian—-and somehow, I knew all the words! Ha!
I tried my hand at a song next—-this time in Mandarin.
(Oscar knows a bit of Mandarin, but he couldn't even keep up!)
I twirled about the words and rhythms faster and faster until an old, folk song turned into a high seas' shanty.
I've never felt so alive… and I suspect that Oscar feels the same.
All I know is that I can't wait to spend a new year with him.
