Cake Sale

Chapter One

Siwon had decided that if Heechul wouldn't go with him to church, he would go with him to a PTA meeting. Which was ridiculous, since Heechul didn't even have any children, but his sister was too busy working to attend the meetings, so Heechul had ended up being dragged into visiting his nephews school.

As much as he loved dropping Donghae off in the morning, attending a long and boring meeting was not the way Heechul wanted to spend his Friday. Especially since today they were apparently discussing the year six leaver's disco, which didn't even have anything to do with his nephew who was only in year one. At least, he hoped, Siwon would go on at him less from now on.

They took their seats around a large table, next to some parents who Siwon apparently knew, with an empty seat next to Heechul. The meeting started quickly, with the head of the disco planning committee, a guy called Jackson, who apparently was a teaching assistant. Heechul was so close to dozing off, but he tried to blink the tiredness away.

Suddenly the door behind Heechul burst open,
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" Came the voice from behind him, "Hyukjae wasn't feeling very well."
Hyukjae.. Heechul recognised that name, it was his nephew's best friend.
Heechul turned around to look at the man, Hyukjae's dad probably, and was stunned. This was the most beautiful man he'd ever seen in his life. Probably one of the most tired, but definitely the most beautiful.
"Can i?" He asked, gesturing to the empty seat beside Heechul.
"Sure." Heechul said, trying to snap himself out of the haze his lovestruck brain had fallen into, "I'm Heechul, Donghae's uncle." Heechul introduced, hoping to start a conversation and get to know this man better.
"Jungsoo. Hyukjae's dad." The beautiful man said with a shy smile. The most beautiful smile...

Jackson started talking again about the disco, except this time Heechul was much more awake. Please don't be married please don't... Heechul thought and stole a glance at Jungsoo's hand on the table next to him. No ring!
In the time that he had been distracted by the man next to him, the topic of discussion had changed.
"What about a cake sale?" asked Jungsoo, bringing Heechul's interest back into the conversation. Everyone around the room agreed that it was a good idea.
"Ideas to raise money for charity." Siwon whispered to Heechul. He vaguely remembered Siwon making a suggestion earlier in the meeting.
"I just need some people to help bake some cakes." Jungsoo said.
"I'll help!" said Heechul without thinking. He could not bake. He could not cook. He lived in a two bedroom apartment with his equally single roommate Kyuhyun and they ordered takeaways almost every night.
"You like to bake?" asked Jungsoo.
"Of course!" said Heechul, internally cringing at his blatant lie. At least nobody except Siwon, who was subtlety giving him an extremely questioning look, knew he had never baked in his life.
"That's great!" said Jungsoo, "Perhaps we could prepare a few things together, I have way too many ingredients at home!"
"Sure." said Heechul. HE WAS GOING TO JUNGSOO'S HOUSE. It really was mission failed successfully.

The meeting drew to a close and he exchanged numbers with Jungsoo, who had to run off, just as frantically as he had entered, to work.
As he turned to Siwon to leave together, he saw that the look Siwon had been giving him earlier had intensified. Once they'd made it into Siwon's car, the younger man broke the silence.
"Really?" asked Siwon.
"What?" replied heechul, "I'm just trying to help charity!" Heechul said in the most sweet and innocent voice he could manage.
Siwon sighed, "So you're not interested in a certain single dad who's number you just got?"
"He's single??" Heechul asked, and Siwon let out a deeper sigh.
"Yes, not that you should be worrying about that. do you even know how to bake?"
It was so easy to forget that little detail when the image of Jungsoo's cute smile appeared in his head at the mention of baking. Jungsoo baking, in an apron, icing on his nose...
"Heechul?" Siwon snapped him back to reality.
"Sure i can." said Heechul, already forming a plan in his head.
