"Hey Yunho?" Heechul spoke into the phone, "Isn't your boyfriend a chef?"
This was his brilliant plan: if he could get Yunho's boyfriend to teach him to bake them he could impress Leeteuk!
"Yes... Why?" Yunho asked, used to Heechul coming up with ridiculous schemes that got them both into trouble.
"Sooo.. I need to learn how to bake.. for charity." Heechul said.
"That's so great of you!" Yunho said, happy that his friend was finally getting involved in something good. "I'll ask Changminnie when he's free!"About ten minutes after the phone call Yunho texted him to say that 'Changminnie', as he nicknamed his boyfriend, had got off work early and was on his way to Heechul's apartment.
...
"Oh.. you really don't know anything." said Changmin as he stared blankly at the older man.
"It's baking soda.. isn't it for baking? What's the problem?" asked Heechul.
"Baking soda needs acid to rise. You'll just end up with a flat cake if you use baking soda for regular cake recipes." Changmin explained, exasperated at Heechul's mistake which he had assumed would be common knowledge. "Baking soda also reacts super quick... so not good for cakes basically."
"I just had it for cleaning.." said Heechul.
"And so you thought it would be a good idea to put it in a cake??"
It had been about 10 minutes since they started the baking lesson and Heechul had already driven Changmin to the verge of a mental breakdown.
"Don't worry, I have baking powder with me." Changmin reassured him, and they continued with the lesson.By the end Heechul had managed to make an edible cake (tested by Kyuhyun) and realised that he was actually quite talented at decorating which they all agreed would help convince Jungsoo that he actually enjoyed baking. Not that either of them knew who Jungsoo was, but Kyuhyun was very much used to Heechul's sudden crushes that only lasted for about a week, even if Heechul was trying to convince him that Jungsoo was different from the others.
Changmin tried Heechul's cake after Kyuhyun had assured him it was edible, and he approved it as good enough for a cake sale. Not good enough for the michelin star restaurant he worked at, but it would do. With that, he left Heechul and Kyuhyun alone in their apartment."So you're into dilfs now?" Kyuhyun teased, opening his beer.
"Shut up." said Heechul, opening his own, "It's not that.. you'd get it if you saw him.. Plus he's Donghae's friend's dad so it would be good for the kids if we got together." Heechul added.
"So you actually want to be in a proper relationship with this guy.. who even are you?"
"Hey! I've been in real relationships! And I like Jungsoo in a pure way get your mind out of the gutter!"
"Just reminding you you literally met this guy once but ok."
"Shut up and drink." said Heechul, affectionately rather than actually annoyed at his best friend.Ping
Heechul's phone had just gone off.
"Is it him?" Kyuhyun asked.Hello, this is Hyukjae's father, Jungsoo, who you met at the meeting today. I was wondering if you would be free to bake the cakes tommorow. If you are available, I will send you my address.
Kind regards,
Jungsoo."It's him." Heechul confirmed.
"That's the most formal text message i've ever seen, how old is this guy?" Kyuhyun asked, looking over his shoulder.
"Hey! He's young! He looks younger than you, but that's not exactly hard." He joked. That earned him a slap from Kyuhyun who did not appreciate that comment coming from a man who was literally older than he was.
"He probably thought you were Donghae's grandad then!" Kyuhyun retorted.
"Hey! I'm older than you! Show a little respect!"
"Sorry ahjussi." Kyuhyun smirked.
"Jo Kyuhyun!!!" Heechul shouted at Kyuhyun who quickly retreated to his room laughing, probably going to ignore him for games and the discord server he was on which was full of men in their 30s and ironically named 'Super Junior'.
