I open my eyes a year older. Today is the day I turn 22!! As I get out of bed and head down stairs I see my dad and run over to hug him.

"Happy birthday mera bacha" he says lovingly and hands me a bag.

"Thanks papa!" I say as I open the bag. I'm overjoyed to see a very pretty saree of a light turquoise colour.

"Do you like it bacha? Your Shradda maa helped me pick it out." He says.

I hug him saying, "Yes, papa. I love it, but why a saree?"

My dad looks a bit reluctant as he says "Wear this and get ready bacha, we will talk after that."

"Okay papa." I say but I couldn't help but feel a bit confused, but I guessed it was just our day of spending time together.

My dad was a very busy man. Ofcourse he was because he was the chairman of the multi-million dollar company Shekhawat & Singhania. So out of the year he would barely spend time with me, so I made sure that he would spend time with me atleast on my birthday each year. It was out little tradition.

I got ready within an hour. I draped the saree watching a YouTube tutorial, did a minimal make up look with silver jhumkas and I wore my mummas locket. It was simple yet elegant and the one thing of my mother's that I still have with me.

I got downstairs and I saw my dad sitting on the couch waiting for me patiently.

"Sit down beta, and I want you to remain quiet till I finish speaking."

"Okay??" I said as I sat down.

"You know that Mr. Harsh Singhania and I, are buisness partners right? We'll we we're not always so close. We used to be buisness rivals, but your mom, and shraddha aunty we're the best of friends. When your mom was on her death bed, the only thing she asked me for was a promise, a promise to marry you to Rohan and to always be close to the Singhanias as if we we're family, and that's what we became as they helped me raise you. We got close as time moved on and merged our buisness' as well."

Tears started trickling down my cheeks as he continued.

"We decided to tell u and Rohan on your 22nd birthday. I'm sorry bacha, but your mom means the world to me and I need to fulfill her last wish, and that too before her 21st death anniversary, which is in a month so we needed to hurry things up.

Rohan Singhania. The heartbreaker of our college. The guy who never believed in love was to be married to me, someone who's only goal in live is to have a happily ever after.
