Mistake

The following day I decided to call Matt to talk to him about my unexpected visitor, he got a little too worried and asked me to go to his place, a request I obliged mentally taking a step back. When I arrived and told him that I had given Frank my phone number, he almost killed me.

M: "You crazy or what? The guy is a cold-blooded killer, escaped prison and is a dangerous wanted man. You wanna get yourself killed?"

I: "C'mon Matty, both you and I know that's not true, otherwise you wouldn't be so eager to represent him. The guy's heart is in the right place, and he get's the damn job done. Every time."

M: "Oh, so it's fine because the people he's killing are criminals? They are human beings, they have rights just like you, they deserve to be punished by the law, not killed by some self-centred vigilante."

I: "It's funny how you are so fucking against Frank's actions, though your idol Daredevil beating the crap out of the same criminals is ok? Same shit man, the only difference is that Frank prevets those people to come back and to more shady stuff, Daredevil doesn't."

M: "Daredevil allows the legal system to punish criminals, if you don't trust the system, why on earth did you become a lawyer?"

I: "When I fell in love with the law, I had no idea that there were that many dirty cops, judges and shit. If the legal system is so trustable, why are there so many law enforcement agents in Fisk's paycheck? I became a lawyer for the same fucking reason Frank kills people: because I wanted to make the world a better place. The thing is, only one of us is capable of succeeding, and that's not me."

Matt fell silent. He knew I was right. At least something I said aligned with the thoughts in his mind, and that's enough for me. At least for now.

I: "Ok, you know I'm safe, Frank did not kill me, just stitched the man up, I'm I allowed to go home?"I asked, jokingly.

M: "Actually, I was just about to text you when you called me. There's something I'd like to ask you."

I: "Sure." Matt hesitated, stayed silent for a while and then asked:

M: "You hungry?"

I: "Seriously? Is that what you wanted to ask? Well, I haven't eaten since lunch."

M: "What I'm trying to say is: would you like to have dinner with me?"

I: "You mean, dinner dinner or like... a dinner date?" I hope I was able to hide how uncomfortable I was when I asked that. I really like Matt but as a friend.

M: "It depends on how you feel about it. I'd love to go on a date with you, Isabel Montesh."

Wow. Did not expect that. Matt is attractive and all, good company, intelligent. But Frank... Nah, that's a hell of an opportunity. If I fall for Matt I can finally get the damn criminal out of my head.

I: "I'd really like to have dinner with you, Matthew Murdock."

Dinner with Matt was truly amazing, I wasn't kidding when I said that his company was good. We talked for hours about various topics and ate the best salmon I've ever tried. When we finished, he wanted to drop me home, but I reminded him that my car was at his house. What a gentleman.

I: "So, you not asking me if I wanna come up?"

M: "I don't wanna ruin this."

I: "You won't."

M: "You wanna come up?"

I: "Yeah. I'd like that."

M: "Would you like wine?"

I: "You trying to get me drunk?"

M: "Never. I'm trying to have a romantic conversation in my living room."

I: "As long as your wine is red..."

We both knew what was our intention, it was hard to try to come up with something to talk about when Matt's dress shirt was showing every single muscle the guy had in his arms, though I lost it when we sat and I noticed that it was not only his shirt that covered something evident.

M: "You're remarkably quiet, you know?"

I: "Weren't you with Karen?"

M: "Long story short, I had a female friend over, Karen misinterpreted. We're not together anymore."

I: "You gave Karen grounds for misinterpretation? She wouldn't just break up with you for having friendly a girl in your place."

M: "She was sick, I was taking care of her. She was sleeping in my bed, and I in the couch. Karen got here, saw Elektra in my bed and ended things. But I swear to you that I didn't, and would never have, cheat on Karen. I respect her too much to do something like that."

I: "I get it. I trust you, Matthew, I know you wouldn't do that. Though I like your friend's name. Elektra. Quite different."

M: "Yeah..."

Liking or not, things were a bit awkward. Again, we both knew what was our intention, but we're friends after all. I kept eyeing Matt, afraid to take action and regretting it. We were both silent for quite some time, just appreciating the wine and the cold air between us. That was until Matthew placed his hand on my upper leg.

I: "Matthew..." I half whispered.

M: "Isa..." He said, in a tone almost as low as mine.

No words were needed after that, he cupped my face with his hands and kissed me softly, though the 'soft' didn't last long, we were both craving affection, attention, and the gentle interaction quickly became a harsh mix of mouth and hands everywhere. He dad a hand on my breast, I had mine inside his shirt, feeling his athletic abdomen. He had his tongue inside my mouth and I had mine inside his. God, it was magic. Matt knew exactly what to do, when to do, how to do. My head was spinning. As our thoughts were heating up, his hand went down between my legs, over my pants, and the new friction made me grab his hair and pull it a little. My action made him release a muffled groan that made me even more excited. We had to stop or I would regret it tomorrow.

I: "I don't wanna ruin it." The sound of my voice almost inaudible.

M: "Yeah. You better head home, Isa. I enjoyed my night, hope we can do it again in the near future!"

I: "Yeah, me too. Thanks for the invite, Matty. See you soon..."
