I'd come to Will's on one of his days off. Often the first.

In the morning I drank blood and walked to the set. First the dressing room, even though vampires are perfect, they still needed a makeover for the camera. Afterwards, the assistant director would call me over to the set. We'd discuss the scene, rehearse, and then shoot. Sometimes it was annoying to shoot the same thing twenty times. Same time it was interesting to play the one scene in different ways. When I became a vampire, I stammered less and forgot the text. But people often did.

It was a detective series. I think it's in its sixth season. I'm a new character on one investigation, a nice guy who turns out to be a creepy villain at the end. I was able to socialise with my colleagues after hours. Jane and Derek, who played the roles of the lead detectives in love with each other and this season, spoiler, they finally start dating, turned out to be fun and interesting people. We chatted after work went to a bar and chatted. They were okay with vampires.

Will and I looked at the options and had already chosen a flat. I made an agreement with the landlady and after the shoot we'll rent it and move our stuff in. I missed Will. I wished he was always there for me. I loved feeling him and smelling him. Hugging, kissing and fucking him. Drinking his blood once in a while (once in those two weeks) was the climax of bliss. And I loved giving him my own blood, when he drank it I felt an intense excitement, as if I could now own him completely and do whatever I wanted to him.

The filming finished, we had a party with the shooting crew and then I went back to him. Passion was tearing us apart again.

The next day we went to the flat. Ulma gave us the keys, showed us the rooms and the bathroom and kitchen. I checked that everything was in order, we signed the contract and she left.

"There's our palace" I hugged Will.

"Hello Alex," said an icy, vibrating voice slowly.

"Rufus!" I tensed and stood in front of Will, protecting him and preparing for battle.

With my eyes, I surveyed the kitchen. The knives are close. I think I can grab them in time to strike first. If as he attack Will, he'd be the first to draw weapon. My body clenched and tightened. Inside, I felt the protest, remembering Rufus's control and orders. Back then, I'd believed it was for my self-control, so I wouldn't jump on people with a thirst.

"Don't be afraid, I'm not mean," he held his hands out like he was being threatened with a gun. Will got nervous, and I could hear his heart pounding.

"You have a restraining order!" I reminded him.

"Not anymore" there was no doubt in his eyes. It's impossible. "You see, I have good connections and I'm no longer bound by metres. But I didn't come here to threaten you."

He looked around then examined Will closely.

"I'm just saying you have nothing to fear Al." He was stretching out the letter L. "I don't care about you. But you should know that I have a branch in Cretis. And I'll be there permanently for a couple of months, top floor. If you ever decide to ask me anything. I'm your mentor remember."

Cretes is a neighbouring town.

"You're Will, aren't you?" Rufus stared intently at my lover. I was ready to defend.

"Yes," Will answered menacingly. "And you're the Rufus!"

"I don't know what told you about me, but I assure you it's not half true how terrible and ruthless I am" he made his terrible vampire grin, showing his sharp teeth.

Will stood firm, waiting. I was ready to attack and defend at any moment.

"I don't mean any harm. Just to see you. And to see."
