Kotoha begins to shake harder, breathing becoming much harder at the demon that looks down at her from below the brim of a white fedora. Those crimson eyes narrow again when she doesn't speak.

"For a final time human, why should I keep you alive?" She finches hard when another hard smack comes as Douma is struck down once more. He doesn't make a noise of any pain as his back is slashed open.

She couldn't speak.

'Think, think, THINK!' Kotoha takes only a handful of seconds to think. ' Taisho era, Taisho era, 1914, 1914.'

-
Muzan was at his limit with this woman and Douma was going to sit up soon and he wouldn't limit his strike to just the demon.

"World War One- Wait you call it the Great War. Japan will declare war on Germany in August!" The woman was panicking.

The progenitor of demons narrows his eyes at the human.

"A government insider, worthless to me." He had no need to get involved with politics. Unless it involves him gaining the ability to conquer the sun, he doesn't care who he kills.

This woman would be no different.

"How interesting!"

Muzan only narrowed his eyes as Douma's healing ability kicked in faster than expected.

"You work for the government Kotoha-chan?" Douma put his arm around the woman once more before looking up at his lord. "Perhaps she can tell us more, Muzan-sama!"

No more-

A flash from the woman blinds him temporarily along with Douma. A curl of his lip is his only sign of annoyance. It was like a light reflected off a mirror.

But what could it have possibly been?

The woman was shaking, holding a black tablet made of glass smaller than any pocket notebook. She was shaking as she turned around and showed a lit-up side.

His eyes are reflected at him in a picture in color and detail. Impossible. A camera would take more time to develop and it would need more equipment than whatever the woman had.

Douma seems to be impressed at the image.

"WOW, Kotoha-chan~ What's this? Is it magic?!" Douma had used his free hand to take hold of Kotoha's wrist and direct the picture for further study.

The woman shakes her head her focus is on slow movements even with an energetic demon right beside her.

"This is a phone. A mobile phone from the Reiwa era."
Muzan doesn't move from his position, though he does watch Douma get more interested by leaning in.

"The Reiwa era? When is that, Kotoha-chan? Muzan-sama, do you know the Reiwa era? Is it a time in Europe?" Douma looks over to his lord briefly only for his eyes to get slashed.

"Explain human." Kotoha gulps and calms herself.

"I am from the future. A century from now." She was going to speak but she blinked and the demon was before her. The arm that is around her tightens unexpectedly when her phone is plucked from her hand.

Muzan holds it with the tip of his claws, curling at the edge.

Blood red eyes look upon the image, before glancing at her.

"Show me how you took that picture."

She attempts to move but the arm on her acted as her leash. So she uses her hands.

"You have to swipe away from the picture, with your finger." She was trying to keep it simple for someone who may not be nearly as versed as her. Like a grandpa who got his first smartphone after his flip phone had finally broken and his landline disconnected.

The demon was quick to learn, shortening his deadly claw to use the tip of his finger without damaging the delicate glass.

"Next."

"Then you will press the white circle."

Muzan does and the flash happens again. Though the direction of the phone was to the floor and the photo wasn't anything special.

"Muzan-' Those eyes dart too fast and the arm on her waist goes to her around her shoulders. She flinches but shallows her fear and stress. ' you can take a video."

"Take a video. How?"

It was unnatural how silent Douma was through the exchange Muzan was having with Kotoha. He had read the demon's mind the moment he entered the temple with the woman.

He had believed she was reincarnation. He was going to slaughter the woman for she could simply be a lookalike of a woman Douma remembered and was nostalgic for.

His main point of her being a reincarnation is the amount of years that have passed. Fourteen years and she looks like the age she died. From the memories that came to the forefront of Douma's mind, she did look similar.

For now, he had been introduced to her smartphone's features.

There was even a translator.

Muzan had scanned a document of Arabic origins but he hadn't bothered to learn the language.

It turns out the document was of no use to him.

Hmmmm.

"This is music."

The point on the phone where the music came from was small and a bit annoying but it would do.

The music was too upbeat for his taste.

Shrimp Dance by Hiroshi Suzuki

Muzan was scrolling through the list in alphabetical order as Douma finally snapped out of his silence and decided to dance with the human. Still nervous and rightfully so should he inform her what his main diet was.

He continued using the tip of his finger scrolling through the icons of artists that haven't even been conceived yet.

Next was Smooth Criminal by -

Wait a moment-

Whatever neutral expression he had was dropped into a frown as the song ended and the next one started.

Before the heartbeat can be overshadowed by the song, a splash of blood hits the floor and Muzan walks past the fallen form of Douma and hands the device back to Kotoha.

It was barely in her hands when he was gone from the platform.

She is surprised to have lived.

The first verses are turned down as she hears Muzan begin to speak from wherever he went.

"You may live. Douma, she will be in your care."

Kotoha flinches as Douma jumps to his feet in a cheer, his newly formed spine popping into place. She squeaks as she is scooped up. Those eyes are hidden as Douma bows in his stand-up position.

"Muzan-sama is so gracious! Thank you for this wonderful gift!"

When a strum of a Biwa is heard, she curls close, not noticing how those colorful eyes brighten as they are teleported away from the Infinity Fortress.
