Sunday rolled by quickly, nothing big happened. Luke stayed in his room as usual, texting Michael about random things and going on the Internet, occasionally playing his guitar.

Monday came, the day Luke absolutely despised and hated. All his terrors returned to him, the terror of being alone, the terror of being ignored, but worst of all, the terror of being bullied.

He tried walking to school slowly, choosing a longer route. He wanted to be as late as he could without being late. If he was late, everyone would just stare at him in the classroom as he had to explain why he was late to the teacher. The last thing he wanted in the world was unnecessary attention at school.

As he stepped into the school gates with 5 minutes to spare, he found Michael standing by the spot they used to wait for each other.

"Hey, morning!" Michael smiled at Luke.

"Morning," Luke said quietly as he forced a smile.

"Look, I know you are scared of them again but I am here okay? I will always look out for you. Just try to relax and get out of their way like any other week,"

"Thanks Michael, I am trying to."

"Oh and have you heard that some new students are joining our school today? I think they just moved here this week. I heard that they are a girl and her brother. I don't know, but hey new people."

"I hope they are nice."

The school bell suddenly rang, cutting their conversation.

"I'll see you at lunch Luke, have a nice day," Michael patted Luke's shoulder as he walked off to his class.

"Easy for him to say." Luke mumbled under his breath.

-

Luke was sat in his history class, already bored to death in the first few minutes. He never understood the point of learning history. People just needed to move on from the things that happened in the past. No one could change it.

Luke wished he could though, he wished that he hadn't let what the bullies said affect him so much that he believed what they said about himself at last. He wished he had the courage to fight back the first time he was bullied like Michael. Michael was bullied before for hanging out with Luke, but he fought back and they left him alone. Now, Luke was too weak to do so, too weak.

The past made him sad and Luke has chosen to run away from it to a colourful world. The thing is, a black and white bubble was surrounding him, trapping him in the past, and he needed someone to help him burst it.

-

"Thank god it's lunch. Where's Michael?" Luke thought as he walked around the school canteen, trying to look out for Issac and James while doing so. He had done a pretty good job of avoiding them so far that day. "Shit, where is he?"

His anxiety started to kick in as he dived between the hungry and noisy students. Michael was always waiting for him, Luke never had to find him.

He was starting to give up when he saw Michael with two people he never met. They were sitting together by a table. Michael glanced over to Luke and called him over.

"Hey Luke, come here. I'm sorry I didn't wait for you but they are who I told you about this morning. This is Ashton," Michael said as he pointed to a curly headed guy on his left, "and this is Alexa."

Luke gave a small smile to Ashton. Then, he turned his head to Alexa and gave a gasp. She was the girl he awkwardly met at the park. He felt sick to the stomach as he remembered their encounter two days ago.

"Oh hey I remember you Luke, I think we met at the park on Saturday? You were staring at m-"

"Hi, yeah um haha uh we met. Uh Michael I forgot I have something to hand in so see you later bye!" Luke rambled on while backing away to the canteen entrance, leaving Michael confused. He bumped into someone suddenly.

He was just about to apologise when the person shoved him to the ground. "Where are you going loser? In a hurry to go home back to mommy although she wouldn't care?" It was Isaac.

Luke felt his eyes tearing up, why does every Monday has to be like this. Why now, in front of Alexa and Ashton? Why is he so stupid to not look where he was going? Just when he thought he could have one single day of peace. No, good luck was just not meant for him.

"Hey what do you say when you bump into someone? Where are your manners?" Isaac said loudly, attracting the attention of everyone in the canteen.

"Sorry, I- I'll just go sorry," Luke whispered. He quickly ran out with his head down, tears threatening to fall.

Just another day at school.
