"Get lost."
Those words echoed in Kage's ears as it got uttered by a voice belongs to a male teenager. Everything is blurry, though she don't know who he is, but the sense of familiarity lingering around in the air. Even with doubts, those words made her chest ache. Kage found herself standing by the ledge of her classroom window, admiring an orange colored sky. The wind graze her exposed skin, sending a tingling sensation down her spine. Her body began to lean forward and her vessel become limp. Then, everything turns black and the world falls silence.

"!!!"
Kage jolted awake with cold sweats covering her body. She's panting as if she's been running a marathon in her sleep. Kage took a deep breath, then sighed.
"Just another dream." She thought to herself.
Kage wiggled her way out from the blanket that draping her figure and push herself up from the bed. She glance over at the clock, showing that it's 10 p.m; her working hours. A faint grin cracked on her gaze.
"I'll do my best today."

Kage walked down an empty street towards the designated meet up location with her coworker- or for lack of a better word, her close companion. She make a sharp turn around the corner before bumped into a figure who's a foot taller than her.
"You're late today."
Before Kage could reacted, the voice of a man catches her attention. A grin on Kage's face widened when she looked up at the man in front of her.
"Kuro! Sorry, I uh... Overslept."
Kage greeted him with an awkward smile before waving her hand dismissively. She then absentmindedly attempted to straighten Kuro's jet black blazer for accidentally run into him earlier but Kuro immediately hold onto her wrist firmly, stopping her.
"There's no need. You overslept, really? That's rare. You're having one of those dream of yours again?"
Kage didn't pull away from him, nor intended to lie so she just nodded.
"Well.. Yeah. But such trivial matter doesn't excused myself to come late to my duties. So I sincerely apologize."
Kage murmured half jokingly before averted her gaze from Kuro to the empty street, then glanced back at him.
"So you've finished your job already? Accompany me to mine then."
Kuro eyebrows raised before he tilted his head to the side, seemingly amused.
"Oh why? Is the Nightmare Queller need some assistant on her duty? I thought you're strong as you claim."
"It's not like that! I just wanted someone's company. You can just stay still and watch from afar. Someone like you don't like getting his hands dirty after all."
Kage rolled her eyes. Briskly, she jumped and hovered over the ground effortlessly with her hands in her pocket, looking down on Kuro with a slight grin.
"Let's go then."
Kuro couldn't help but to snorted and shook his head as Kage suddenly felt a gush of wind hitting her face. Shadow of a pair of two 12 feet black wings overcast them. The wings appear out of a thin air from Kuro's back. With one flap, Kuro swiftly flown up high to the sky, expecting Kage to follow closely behind him. He doesn't even bother to look back, which annoys Kage but she just sighs before quickly catches up with him.
"How impertinent."

"Your grace, here is today's report that you wanted."
A woman in all red bow down her head with her hand holding out a rolled scroll.
"Place it on my desk. You may leave."
With the order voiced, the woman nodded before carefully placing the scroll on a neatly organized desk before walking out of mist filled room. With an absent presence of the woman, the room become lull. It's as if time stopped, that's how quiet it is. If one were to be in the same room, one would felt like no one else is there. That's until the figure started to approached his desk. His silent walk only accompanied by the creak of the floorboards.
He carefully picked up the scroll before he unrolled it. The surface of it was decorated with scripture-like writings that can be describe as it has been neatly written with each brush strokes having a precise length and sizes. Reading it, he sighs softly before he sat down on a floral-craved wooden couch bed. His red face veil billowed out as the wind gently blows, revealing a hint of solemness plastered on his frail gaze that's hidden underneath.
