Chapter 4: Uncertainty Unveiled

Luna's heart sank as she watched Brian's lawyer approach her. Her mind raced with a million questions, and her hands trembled with anxiety. What could this mean? Why would Brian's lawyer be here? She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before the lawyer reached her.

"Ms. Luna, I'm here on behalf of Mr. Brian," the lawyer began, his voice formal and detached. "He has requested a meeting with you to discuss some matters regarding your divorce settlement."

Luna's heart skipped a beat. Divorce settlement? She had hoped that their separation was just a temporary setback, but the mention of a settlement shattered her fragile hope. She felt a lump forming in her throat, making it difficult to speak. "W-what does he want to discuss?"

The lawyer's expression softened slightly as he continued, "Mr. Brian wishes to meet you at his office tomorrow morning. He believes it's time to finalize the divorce and discuss the terms of the settlement."

Luna's eyes welled up with tears, her voice barely a whisper. "But... I thought... I thought we could work things out."

The lawyer sighed sympathetically. "I understand your feelings, Ms. Luna. However, Mr. Brian has made his decision. He wants to move forward with the divorce."

Luna felt her world crumbling around her. The pain of rejection and the fear of losing the man she loved intensified within her. She nodded, unable to find the strength to argue or plead for another chance. With a heavy heart, she accepted the lawyer's invitation to meet Brian the next day.

As Luna left work that evening, her steps felt heavy, burdened by the weight of her shattered dreams. She couldn't help but replay the moments they had shared, the promises they had made to each other. How had it all come to this? She longed for answers, for closure, but most of all, she yearned for the love she had lost.

That night, Luna tossed and turned in her bed, her mind consumed by thoughts of Brian. She couldn't understand why he had suddenly become so distant, why he had chosen to end their marriage without even trying to work things out. The uncertainty gnawed at her, leaving her feeling lost and alone.

The next morning, Luna arrived at Brian's office, her heart pounding in her chest. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before entering. As she stepped into the sleek, modern space, she couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu. This was where their love story had begun, where they had once shared laughter and dreams.

Brian stood by the window, his back turned to her. Luna's heart skipped a beat as she took in his tall, lean figure. She had missed him so much, and now, seeing him again, her heart ached with a mix of longing and anger.

"Brian," she called out softly, her voice trembling.

He turned around, his eyes meeting hers. Luna could see the pain etched on his face, mirroring her own. For a moment, they stood there, silently acknowledging the love they had lost.

"I'm sorry, Luna," Brian finally spoke, his voice filled with regret. "I never wanted it to end like this. But I thought it was for the best."

Luna's eyes welled up with tears as she took a step closer to him. "But why, Brian? Why didn't you give us a chance to fix things? I still love you."

Brian's gaze softened, and he reached out to touch her cheek gently. "I love you too, Luna. But I thought I was doing what was right for both of us. I didn't want to keep hurting you."

Luna's heart ached at his words, torn between the pain of their separation and the flicker of hope that still lingered within her. She reached out, grasping his hand, desperately holding on to the love they once shared.

"Brian, please," she pleaded, her voice filled with raw emotion. "Let's not give up on us just yet. We can work through this. We can find a way back to each other."

Brian's eyes searched hers, his own filled with a mix of longing and uncertainty. Luna could see the battle raging within him, torn between his fear of hurting her and his desire to be with her.

Finally, he nodded, a glimmer of hope shining in his eyes. "Am sorry Luna.Sign the divorce agreement and I will give you any amount of money you like.

His voice was cold and distance,I could not believe he was the one that I got married to 5 days ago and dated for 6 month.
