on the car ride home:
As Luna settled into the passenger seat of Brian's car, a heavy silence hung in the air. The tension between them was palpable, a reminder of the broken relationship they once shared. Luna couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions - fear, anger, and a lingering sense of vulnerability.
Brian, sensing Luna's unease, broke the silence. "I know things ended badly between us, Luna, but I still care about your safety. I don't want anything to happen to you."
Luna glanced at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of skepticism and gratitude. "I appreciate your concern, Brian, but I can take care of myself. I've been doing it for years."
Brian sighed, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. "I know you're strong, Luna, but these incidents have been happening too close to home. It's not worth taking any risks. Let me make sure you get home safely."
Luna's gaze softened, realizing that Brian's intentions were genuine. "Alright, but just this once. I don't want you to think this changes anything between us."
Brian nodded, a hint of sadness in his eyes. "I understand, Luna. I'm not expecting anything. I just want to ensure your safety."
As they drove through the dimly lit streets, Luna couldn't help but reflect on the past. She remembered the love they once shared, the dreams they had together. But life had taken them on different paths, leading to a bitter divorce. The wounds were still fresh, and Luna couldn't easily forget the pain.
Brian, sensing Luna's thoughts, spoke softly. "I know we can't change the past, Luna, but I hope we can find a way to move forward. Maybe not as a couple, but as two people who once cared deeply for each other."
Luna turned to face him, her eyes filled with a mix of sadness and longing. "I don't know if that's possible, Brian. The hurt runs deep, and trust is not easily regained."
Luna's heart softened, realizing that despite their differences, Brian still cared for her well-being. "Thank you, Brian. I appreciate your concern, and I'll consider what you've said."
As they arrived at Luna's apartment, Brian parked the car and turned to face her. "Please take care, Luna. This is my apology to you,how is your wounds?
Luna nodded, a small smile forming on her lips. "Am okay I think, thanks for asking but my well-being is not your concern Mr Brian.
I couldn't believe what was happening. Brian, my ex-husband, was forcefully pushing me towards the front of the car, his hands gripping my shoulders tightly. I felt a surge of panic and shock course through my body. What was he doing? As he tried to lean in and kiss me, his lips inching closer and closer, I couldn't help but remember all the pain and betrayal he had caused me in the past. I knew deep down that he was only trying to use me, to manipulate me into giving him what he wanted.
But I refused to be deceived again. With all the strength I could muster, I pushed him back, breaking free from his grasp. The sound of my hand connecting with his cheek echoed through the air as I slapped him, a mix of anger and defiance fueling my actions.
Without looking back, I turned and walked away, determined to put distance between us. I needed to protect myself, to remind myself of my worth and the strength I had found within me. Brian may have tried to control me, but I would not allow him to succeed.
Entering the safety of my house, I closed the door behind me, taking a deep breath to steady my racing heart,I began to cry, crying Brian was always in my heart, even though he hurt me I couldn’t just forget him and move on.He was my first love and I need time to move on.
