Chapter 20: "It's not only his baby is it?"

"You ready to go see your new home Savanna?" Carly asked when getting Savanna dressed. "Carly?" "Yes dad?" Carly asked watching her dad walk into the room. "Have you talked to Connor by chance?" Carly's dad asked "No and I'm not going to, he can find out that Savanna is born over twitter or instagram" Carly said while picking up Savanna. "Isn't it Connor's right to know that HIS baby is born" Carly's mom asked. "It's not only his baby is it?" Carly snapped back. Carly's mom and dad walked into the hallway away from Carly's ears ."You need to call him now" Carly's mom said "On it" Carly's dad said and walked away dialing Connor's parents. "Hello?" a voice from the phone said. "Hi Mrs. Hayes, how are you doing this afternoon?" Carly's dad asked into the phone. "I'm all right how are you?" She asked back. "Great, great listen, you're a grandmother.. Connor needs to get down here as soon as possible we are leaving at around 2pm." There was a minute or two pause on the other end of the phone. Breaking the silence Connor's mom yelled in the background "Connor get your bloody shoes on! You're a dad!" coming back to the phone Mrs. hayes quickly said they will be there shortly and hung up the phone leaving Carly's dad standing their with a beeping phone to this ear.

An hour and a half later Carly bundles her baby up nice and tight and lays her in the carrier gently doing up the buckles. "I can't wait for you to see your room Savannah you are going to LOVE it." Carly said with a huge smile. "I can't believe they are letting you out an hour early" Carly's mom said "Are you sure you don't want to rest a little more?" "Mom I want to rest in my own bed cuddled up to the baby not in some plank of wood mattress with the baby in a glass box" Carly snapped. "I know but-" "No buts mom! I wanna go home" Carly got a little bit louder in her tone of voice. "Ok, ok let me sign the papers and we can leave." "Thank you."

"We all ready?" Carly's dad asked opening the back door to help Carly put Savannah in her car seat looking around to see if Connor was any where to be seen. "Yup." Carly said excitedly "What are you looking for dad?" "Huh? Nothing." He said. "Just wanna get home and relax with my granddaughter" "Soon dad, soon" 

"Hi I'm here to see Carly Jennings she just had a baby. I'm her boyfriend and the father of her baby" He said quickly running into the hospital and almost falling over the front desk where there sat a pretty blonde girl with a name tag saying "Dr. Rose St.Claire". "I'm sorry she just left about 15 minutes ago" She said. "But she just had the baby.." Connor said confused. "Says here she had a baby almost 2 days ago" The lady said typing on her computer keyboard. Connor turned to look at his mother standing their looking as confused as he was. "Mom you said-" "I said you were a father I didn't say when that started Mr.Hayes just told us to get down here as soon as possible." Connor's mom said. "We'll just have to drive to her place" "Can we drive home first? I forgot I had something for her that I wanted to give her after the baby was born." Connor asked walking beside his mother out the hospital doors and back to the car. "Of course" his mother said hopping in the drivers seat.
