Chiron had insisted we talk about it in the morning, which was kind of like, Hey, your life's in mortal danger. Sleep tight! It was hard to fall asleep, even harder when there was a knock on my door. I open it exception Christine, but it was not.

"Hey?" I ask the girl standing in front of me. I recognized her. She was a girl form the Afrodite cabin. She was tall, with long blond hair and amethyst eyes. She was pretty like most children of Afrodite.

"Hey there," she greeted with a captivating smile that could rival Aphrodite herself. "Mind if I come in?"

I hesitated, momentarily captivated by the allure she exuded. Eventually, I nodded, allowing her to step into the dimly lit cabin. The air was filled with the intoxicating scent of subtle perfumes, creating an atmosphere that felt more like an enchanted haven than my humble abode.

"I'm Marie Charlston," she introduced herself, her amethyst eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. "I couldn't help but notice you around camp, Orion."

"Yeah, I've been around," I replied, a bit flustered by the unexpected attention. I'd faced challenges and monsters, but navigating the complexities of romantic interest was an entirely different realm.

She gracefully glided further into the room, her presence commanding attention. "You know, I was thinking we could spend some quality time together. I've heard you're quite the hero, and I have a soft spot for heroes."

I scratched the back of my head, attempting to navigate the uncharted waters of the situation. "I appreciate the offer, but I'm not really looking for... you know, that kind of thing right now."

Marie dismissed my response with a carefree wave of her hand, her demeanor radiating confidence. "Oh, don't be so modest, Orion. I can't resist extraordinary things, and you're certainly extraordinary."

Feeling a magnetic pull, I took a step back, creating a bit of distance. "I appreciate the compliment, but I'm not interested. I have other priorities."

Her playful demeanor shifted, frustration flickering in her eyes. "Orion, you're making a mistake. I don't take no for an answer. We could have something amazing together."

I sighed, realizing this encounter wouldn't be easy to navigate. "Look, I'm sure you're great, but it's just not what I'm looking for right now. I need to focus on my duties and, you know, saving the world."

Marie's expression softened, a hint of vulnerability replacing her previous frustration. "Orion, saving the world is an honorable pursuit, but you also deserve moments of happiness and connection. Maybe you've been so focused on being a hero that you forgot what it's like to be just... human."

Her words lingered in the air, a gentle plea for understanding. I found myself captivated not only by her beauty but by the sincerity in her eyes. Maybe there was more to this encounter than I initially perceived.

"I appreciate your perspective, Marie," I began, the weight of my responsibilities momentarily lifted by her genuine concern. "It's just that my life is complicated, and I don't want to drag anyone into the chaos that comes with being a demigod."

She took a step closer, closing the gap between us. "Orion, life is always complicated. We all carry our burdens, but that doesn't mean we should deny ourselves the chance for something special. I see strength in you, a strength that goes beyond battling monsters."

Her hand reached out, hesitating in the air as if waiting for my permission. I met her gaze, and with a subtle nod, she gently placed her hand on my arm. A warmth spread through me, an unexpected connection forming between two souls navigating the challenges of their existence.
