Taffy lacks social skills and initially comes across as a somewhat aloof individual, interacting minimally with her crewmates and being rather straightforward, described as robotic by Shachi. Similarly, Taffy is remarkably collected and able to keep her composure during combat. She is incredibly polite, to the point of asking her enemies for "the honor of taking their lives." Despite her occupation, Taffy is a genuinely kind person with strong energetic twin sister instincts. After becoming a member in the Heart pirates, Taffy becomes more expressive and opens up to her Crewmates, asking for help on being a better cook. On one occasion, after getting drunk with her crewmates, she is described in thought by several, including Her family , as being "adorable" and "pure."

Somewhat counterintuitively, Taffy is extremely gullible and naive and is easily fooled by the ridiculous lies Usopp tells her. Despite her professional competence, Taffy has a startling lack of common sense, being clueless when it comes to nearly all situations outside her pirate life, often thinking in terms of how those skills might apply to them. For instance, she once asked if boogers made coffee taste better in response to Doffy's suggestion that they put one in their captain's coffee. On another occasion, she answered Kukuni's question about Mei passing a marine exam by talking about causes of death, having apparently confused passing [an exam] for passing away. At another point, Law mentioned to Taffy that dogs do not discern consonants well, and Taffy somehow misinterpreted it as him saying that dogs do not discern between causes of death well. She then immediately proceeded to have a daydream about threatening Bond with various forms of death that he refused to choose between. What little common sense she does have disappears almost entirely under the influence of alcohol.

Because of her lack of social skills, Taffy is extremely clueless about love and romance and she easily gets flustered and embarrassed when she does get flirted with. It happens, for example, when A guy(ex) tried to kiss her at Taffy's request or when she thought that (Ex) was going to kiss her when he secretly implant a listening bug on her shirt. At some moments of total embarrassment, Taffy loses control of her strength, like when she slapped Law instead of Eustass, whom she tried to kiss, or when she kicked Sanji in his chin for his flirting with her in a bar.
