Satan

6 year old me would be confused as to why I married a girl. She'd be wondering where my parents are and if I'm finally getting treated the same as my brother.

12-year-old me would be angry at me for talking  as I promised myself to never say another word again.

16-year-old me would never believe where I am. A job that I love and with children I adore.

18-year-old me would be so happy to see me with Angel and relieved to know we made it back together. It's crazy to say that I'm thriving in life with three beautiful kids and the most jaw-dropping wife.

My childhood wasn't the best and probably one of the worst but I'm here now and it's way better than before. I try to erase the memories of the past by trying to remember where I am now. It works until it doesn't.

In the morning I take a moment to appreciate my life and the people around me. Telling myself I deserve this life and the people in it.

As I get ready for work, my wife prepares breakfast so I get the delicious smell of breakfast and hot coffee in the morning. I help Serefina get ready as well, we pretty much do everything together in the mornings.

I watch as she giggles to herself in the mirror while brushing her teeth. Her innocence is adorable so I can't get mad at her distraction.

Serefina is my twin, having the same eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. I see me in her and it warms my heart but also crushes it. It's like seeing myself do the things I wished I could do. If I could explain it a lot easier, I would.

"Alright, we good?" I say as she gargles and spits. She nods her head and giggles again, jumping down from her stool and running out of the room. I follow behind and down the stairs.

"Good morning!" Angel says, her bright self smiling at us as we make our way towards her. Serefina gets there first, giving her mom's legs and walking away. I kiss her soft lips and respond. "Ooo you smell good. I like that."

"It's yours," I chuckle.

"Why are you using my shit?" She asks, giving me a look.

"Yours is better," I argue and it's true. Her perfume has a better scent but I refuse to buy my cause I like using her stuff.

"That's not an excuse," she says turning around.

"It is when you wear my clothes," I say back, making my way to my plate and coffee.

"Well allowed to that, you're not," she says with a small grin.

"You're a hypocrite," I say laughing at her and reaching for my avocado toast.

"You love me," she says giving Serefina her plate. "Boys! You're gonna be late for the bus!"

"Coming!" A small voice yells, Lucien. He comes running down the stairs and soon Julian does too.

"Take your breakfast and eat outside while you wait for the bus," Angel says putting lunches in their backpacks. She kisses their foreheads as they grab their backpacks.

"Bye Mom," Lucien says walking over and hugging me, I kiss his forehead and say bye back.

I hate to say it but me and Julian don't have the best relationship and I have no idea why. I get it, he doesn't want hugs and kisses anymore. But it's more than that, he doesn't say bye and hi to me when they leave or I get back from work. He doesn't want to hang out with me anymore and every time I initiate a conversation, he shuts it down. Just hope he grows out of it. "Bye Julian."

They leave and it's just Serefina and Angel. "Do you feel bad?"

"It's fine," I say to Angel who also knows about our relationship. "I just... I miss it."

"Even though he's twelve, he should treat you that way. Have you tried talking to him or setting up a date?"

"You think he'd want to go on a date with me?"

"It's worth a try," she says shrugging her shoulders.

"I'll ask him then," I say getting up and placing my plate in the sink. Getting hold of my coffee, I kiss my wife and daughter goodbye. "Have a good day, my Loves!"

"Bye Mommy!"
"Bye Light."

It only takes about 30 minutes to get to work, and from there I use my ID to get to my building. I clock in prep machines and read the board. It's still can be unprepared as emergencies happen.

My job is isolating, which is something I enjoy. With my social anxiety and not being able to speak at times, it works perfectly. I mainly spend my time reading as I wait for patients to come in. When one does, I help them on the machine. "I'm gonna need you to stay still and comply calm okay?"

When they nod I walk away and start the machine. CT scans take about 15 minutes, so they lay in there for a while. I also half to suffer in awkward silence with the doctors on their case as they look at the scans too.

(A/N: the only time I'll switch POV in the middle of a chapter for this book)

Angel

"So what you're saying is, my daughter has to suffer and be outcasted because you're too scared?"

"No, I'm just saying I can't stop someone from believing in a certain religion," the principal responds.

"But I'm not telling you to do that. All I'm saying is that her daughter shouldn't be saying those nasty things to my daughter and she needs to teach her kid to be kind." I turn to the mom.  "I don't care the religion but your six-year-old daughter shouldn't be telling mine that her moms are going to hell. It's sick."

"It's the truth," she says, my eye twitching in anger.

"To us, it's not. So I'd appreciate it if you weren't telling your kid to tell mine such nonsense. There's no way a six-year-old would know to say that if it didn't come from a snarky Christian almond mom," I respond. My daughter doesn't deserve to be treated differently because of her parents.

She's wonderful and if everyone is blinded by their beliefs to see that, is it worth keeping her there?

"I want her to switch classes then."

"I'll see what I can do."

"I wanna see too and I want it done now. She has a friend in Mrs. Gizmo's class, can you put her there?"

---

I checked her out cause I wasn't driving back in 30 minutes. They're putting her in a different class, I hope this helps. If it doesn't, I'm not sure what to do.

(A/N: Im gonna be honest this isn't my proudest chapter. I'm hoping next chapter will be better as it will go more in depth with Satan's and Angels relationship.)
