-A month later-
"Kyra, don't you have anything fun to do?"Changbin asked her as she cleaned the dishes.
"Doing the dishes is fun." she answered as she hummed to Queencard. She looked at the clock and noticed it was getting late.
"And...Kyra?"
"Yea?"
"You haven't thought of going back to India? I mean you told me you recently moved to Seoul with your friend...and all this happened..." he trailed off. Kyra stopped scrubbing and looked at him.
Tears started to flow down freely - "I cannot...the-the doctor said I shouldn't travel by air...."
"uh sorry Kyra" Changbin hugged her. She let herself loosen up as few tears got absorbed into his shirt and few fell to the ground, making a tiny puddle of its own. He did not ask anymore questions. He shouldn't have asked her the question just yet.
"Sorry Kyra, don't cry...please" he said trying to make her stop crying but tears seemed to flow very effortlessly from her eyes. Her heart hurt at the amount of crying she was doing and she wiped away her tears - "Sorry...Sorry" she said pulling away.
"I should say that" Changbin said, head low.
"Its fine...you didn't know."
"By the way please stop working. Its been a month and all you did is work. Like - you are working like you are the housemaid. Doing the dishes, sweeping, mopping, cooking, folding the laundry, doing the laundry..." Changbin said taking the sponge from her hand. "But I am staying here for free and I don't have a job to pay you guys rent. Please let me do it" she said but Changbin shoved a huge biscuit into her mouth to make her shut up.
"Do you think we saved you and brought you ALL the way here to make you work? Heck this is what you think of us? After a month you haven't learned anything about us, have you?" Changbin shouted. He then hurried out of the kitchen with Kyra behind him - trying to calm him down. He kept walking until he heard a shatter, and a thud. He turned around to see her sitting on the floor holding her twisted ankle. Changbin was about to help her up but he slipped on some fallen piece from Kyra's mishap and fell too.
But.
On top of her.
Making her lie on her back with him on the top.
As if it wasn't awkward enough, right then Jeongin walked in.
"HYUNG!" he shouted at Changbin. Obviously Kyra had a frightened expression when Jeongin walked in so even though he knew Changbin for years he assumed the worst.
'Yah its not what you think it is!" Changbin exclaimed getting up. Kyra got up too, and she was mute for the rest of the day. Jeongin didn't tell about this to anyone else and wasn't ready to hear his explanation. Changbin was a flushed mess. He was embarrassed. And he kept the incident a secret too.
(a day later)
"Hey Kyra, up for a karaoke night with us?" Chan asked her. She was folding the laundry with Hyunjin beside her. "Oh Chan you are home? What do you want - coffee? A light snack?" she asked, dodging his invite.
"Half a cup of coffee thank you. But are you coming?" he asked again.
"I don't know... I mean I can't sing. But going to one was always my dream. Thanks to kdramas" he blushed at the thought. Singing? In the karaoke bar? Wow
(time skip to the party night)
The neon lights flickered against the dimly lit interior of the karaoke bar, casting a colorful glow upon the faces of the patrons who filled the room with laughter and chatter. Strains of music filled the air, blending with the clinking of glasses and the occasional burst of applause. Among the crowd, the members of SKZ found themselves nestled in a cozy corner, eager to unwind after a long week of performances and rehearsals.
