Relative to the age of Earth, plants, and fish, modern humans have been on this planet for a very short period of time. Yet humans have declared the end of the world throughout the centuries of our time. For quite a while, we have been crying wolf regarding our looming doomsday. I don't know about you, but I believe that in our present time we are definitely shaking things up with human fate in this world.
The animal instincts that are our root, are very different from the level of consciousness our society has evolved into. Perhaps society needs to evolve naturally as ours cells and DNA do. There are too many outdated laws and systems in place that are simply not adapting at the same pace. Technology innovations are exponentially changing our lives and the infrastructure of society, which is not technologically based, and is falling behind. The old structures and traditions in religion, education, politics, and money, all need to be reconstructed, or our end of times will finally be real. We are going to wipe ourselves out, and our planet will survive as it always has for 4 billion years. Society, on the other hand, has not always had this luck.
Rapper Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones states "religion misoverstood is poison." All of the five major religious institutions have extremist groups that are angry and want to harm anyone that doesn't think like they do, resulting in terrorism and hate crimes throughout our world.
The age of the internet has dramatically altered our lives, including our youth. For many of us mobile devices have become another limb, or organ. How about those in poverty, or to be really specific, extreme poverty? How have we built a world that cannot support fellow humans? Equality has a hard time in humanity. Race, sexuality, or creed has always divided societies. At the time of this writing, these are the world headlines as seen on international media. Is this a world of beauty that we have created for ourselves?
