A/N

Hi readers!

So far we've made it here, which is brilliant (in the past I never had any motivation to do a Charles book but anyways) and I need to say something real quick before we get to this chapter.

I hope you have enjoyed the story, just about three more chapters left, this one involving a child (IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS IF YOU ARE THINKING WHAT IM THINKING YOU ARE THINKING), next one an Instagram announcement and the last one basically talk about their child's future in racing and how I am so happy with the book and everyone reading it.

If you have any disagreements at all, please say in the comments down below, or just believe in whatever crap I write in the book.

Your lovely author (not)
Signing off.

"Brilliant, just let me know whatever you need."

I sighed as I hung up on the phone, my tiredness taking over my body. Of course I had been working ten hours straight on a new cover; it had been about years since I did a cover song for a One Direction song. Then Lando called with a newer problem.

He had troubles. Ever since Liv had died in a car crash due to malfunctions, he wasn't able to take care of Harry, their son. Lando still had regrets not leaving his job to go to the hospital; he had a contract problem and needed to discuss it quickly.

Harry was born premature. And he had less than ten minutes to make up a name. So of course, he called Louis.

They hadn't been talking about names. Lando was way too busy trying to weave his way through all the hatred from media talking about how Oscar was able to be better than him in the 2023 season, and Liv didn't want to cause anymore stress for him.

She was trying to drive to the hospital for a checkup, and she did get to the hospital. Just in an ambulance instead of a car. She had woken up, shortly after her surgery to get Harry out. It had a slight chance they would fail.

After some time with her son, she'd unexpectedly died. Lando was still at a meeting while the call was issued to him and Zak had to abruptly stop the meeting so he could run off quickly to the hospital.

No shit. The McLaren Technology Centre was in Woking, England

The hospital was in Monaco

He never got there in time. Even if he broaded the latest flight, he would be too late. The moment I had entered the hospital I knew something was wrong. They didn't let me into the room, Harry was immediately given to me and in the space of time she was announced dead.

"What's wrong?" Charles entered the room. I moved in with him. After about a year of being away but in the same building I accepted his offer of moving in with him. It seemed to be a sensible descision. "Lando again?"

"Yeah, he says he might need my help taking care of Harry while he's at track," I said. "I've just finished my shift here. Need something?"

"No, just wondering if you'd wanted some food," Charles shook his head. "After all, you've been in this room for at least a few hours long."

"I'm fine," I waved it off. "I mean, we can get food if you want."

"No," He shook his head. "By the way... you know the last time we went to visit your family?"

"Yeah, a few weeks ago, what?"

"Nothing just..." He grinned. "You know what? Why don't we go out for dinner tonight?"

"Sure, why not?" I smiled. "We haven't had dinner together for a long time in ages."

"I've actually already picked a dress out for you," Charles turned red. "I knew you'd say yes, actually."

"Gods' sake, Charles," I snorted. "Alright, show me the dress and let's go."

"You said it was dinner."

"Hm, maybe," Charles snorted and drove up the hill. The sun was setting, and it would be perfect for a photograph. He'd seemed to be ready, as we arrived at the top he handed me a camera.

"Just get ready, alright?" He grinned as I asked him about it. "It's a surprise."

"Really?" I frowned. "You've been covering up something the whole week. I'm confused."

"You'll see," Charles smirked, slowly shoving something into his pocket. Maybe it was his phone. I quickly held up the camera and snapped a picture of the sunset, a smile slowly creeping up to my face. I had had photographic skills. He chuckled at my expression.

"Turn around for a minute, won't you? Take some pictures of the sunset for me?" I nodded, expecting him to have forgotten something from the car. He quickly backed up as I knelt down to take some photos of the sunset. "Alright, turn back around, won't you?"

I turned back around. Holy shit.

Charles knelt down on one knee, with the small black box in his hands. I dropped the camera in shock onto the soft grass, cupping my face with my hands. "Adley Norris, I promise to always cherish and love you, to support and respect you, and to be there for you through thick and thin. I cannot imagine a future without you in it, and I am thrilled at the thought of spending the rest of my days with you as my wife. Will you marry me?"

There wasn't a moment of hesitation. It was just the moment of silence which I had to embrace myself of what was happening. His smile remained, probably because of the reason he knew what I was going to say.

"Yes!" I exclaimed, as I threw my arms around him. Charles gently slipped the ring onto the finger, then pressed his lips on mine. "I love you so much."

"How long have you waited for me to say this?" Charles looked at me, and suddenly a slight smile appeared on my face. "Ads?"

"Infinity," I hugged him. "I waited for some time."
