Dorms & Some Rules + 1st Classes. Chapter 4:

After dinner all the first years were taken to their houses by the prefects.

They reach the door and she hears that the password is 'Pure-blood' when everyone enters they murmur about the common room not noticing the ravenette professor except for two.

"Ahem." He clears his throat.

They quiet down.

"I am Severus Snape. But to you it's professor, sir, or professor Snape. I am the potions teacher. But there are a few basic rules I will give you now before sending you off to your rooms. Number one, you are not, under any circumstances allowed to leave the common room past 8:30 p.m and though there is no bedtime it is heavily advised that first and second years go to bed at 9, second, every house meeting must be attended and are usually scheduled beforehand. So unless you're sick, in an emergency, or hospitalized you have no excuse. Now third, something that is not scheduled would be checks on your dorm rooms. They will be done randomly twice a month. Fourth, following that, the house elves here at Hogwarts aren't your servants so you are expected to keep your space and the common room clean. Fifth, and the last for now, Though you may study on your own time there is also a mandatory study time and you must keep to a whisper if you're going to talk. Any questions?"

Nobody says anything or so much as raises a hand.

"Good. I'm glad you understand. Now, the girls' rooms are upstairs on the left while the boys are on the right. All of your belongings are already there. Now get going."

Everyone but Draco and Elly start to leave.

Draco waves to catch her attention and when he has it he signs, ~"Meet back here in 10 to 15?"~

She looks at the clock then turns back nodding. ~"Sounds like a plan. We both know how I am anyhow."~

He nods and she heads to the girls' dorms.

Before Draco could do the same Severus held him back.

Draco turned to face him.

"You seem to have a personal connection to Miss Potter. How do you know her?"

"I've known her since we were 5. I'm surprised you two have never met, seeing as how you're both over quite often."

"Hmm..." Severus releases him. "Go do whatever you were about to Draco."

"Thank you uncle." He says before walking off.

And ten minutes later Elly had come back downstairs to find the common room empty except for Severus though she didn't realize he was there. She lets out a long sigh and flaps out her hands.

"You alright Miss Potter?"

She flinches harshly. Her senses usually catching when someone's there but she seemed to not notice as she faces him. "I-I-I'm f-f-ine." She stutters out. She opens her mouth to apologize when he holds a hand up.

"I understand sign language. No need to force yourself. That would be completely illogical."

~"Right, sorry."~ She signs slightly fast. ~"I can usually pick up when others are around and I'm very observant but I guess I didn't take notice this time."~

"I see. Anyways, take a seat Miss Potter."

~"Elly please. I prefer my given name."~

"I wonder why? Either way I shall respect it." He thinks. "Sure. Whatever you're most comfortable with."

She smiles. ~"Sir, if I may ask, How long have you been teaching here?"~
