Chapter One

Third person

Luke walks into school seeing his best friend, Justin. They've been friends since primary school,couldn't be separated really. Justin doesn't know about his "other life" as he likes to call it.

Luke doesn't want anyone to find out, seeing as his mum could go to jail. He won't let that happen, he has to take care of her.

"Luke!" Justin hollers, getting the attention of many other students. Luke blushed furiously and puts his head down, wanting to fall off the earth.

You see Luke is shy, never wanting to talk to new people. So when people look at him, it drives him insane. That's another reason he hates his 'second life'.

"What do you want Justin?" Luke mumbles, the lurking eyes finally gone. Justin grins and pulls him into the bathroom. Taking something out of his book bag he shows Luke what it is.

The blonde boy gasps and his eyes fill with tears. Justin hands him the Green Day tickets, Luke's trembling hands take them.

"You won them, when you made me enter under my name, you won. I'm not keeping them, take them." Luke sobs and swallows Justin into a hug.

"Thank you so much. This means so much to me I swear I'm going to die." Luke's favorite band is Green Day, and he's never seen them live. Since they're his favorite band, it means the world to him.

"Do you want to go with me? I know you don't like them but just maybe go?" He pretty much begs. He doesn't want to go alone, besides he has two tickets.

"Well, okay I'll make you a deal. If you can't find a boyfriend or a date by then, than I'll go with you. Deal?" Justin asks. Luke nods, knowing he's not going to get either one.

Justin gives him a soft smile and walks him to his locker. Luke is shy, but he does have a good amount of friends.

"So, what are you doing after school?" Justin ponders, wondering why they never hang out. Hearing the question, Luke panics.

"Oh, uhm, I have a doctors appointment." He simply just lies. Luke can't tell anyone what happens, or Mark can go to jail.

Now, you're probably wondering, why wouldn't he tell someone then? Well Mark had told them, Luke and Liz, if they tell anyone and he gets arrested, his  friends will 'take care of them'.

Whatever that meant, it couldn't have been good. Luke lives in fear, afraid that Mark will make him do something even worse.

Justin looks at Luke with a face that says 'I'm not buying it,' Luke just shrugs and gives him a small smile, heading off to class.

Once he enters the room he instantly sees his friend Calum talking to some popular kid. Luke hesitantly walks over and sits his books down on the desk. Calum looks up and grins at him.

"Luke, if you didn't know this is Ashton, Ashton this is Luke," he smiles happy he introduced his friends to each other. Ashton grins and shakes Luke's hand. The first thing that ran through his head was 'damn this kid has some huge hands,'.

"Hi Luke!" Ashton bounces in his seat. Luke observes that the boy is very hyper, and very happy ; the exact opposite of Luke. Luke says hello as the teacher walks in.
No one likes this lady, mostly because all of her work is projects. The projects are hard, and usually have to do them alone. Although Luke does like working alone, he wants help occasionally.

"Quiet down everyone, we have work to do," Mrs. Greene hollars. Luke internally groans and rolls his eyes. Mrs. Greene starts passing out papers, another project. The difference is, you get partners, but you don't get to choose them.

Mrs. Greene starts calling out the names and she hasn't said Luke's yet.

"Luke hemmings and,"Luke finally pays attention. "Ashton Irwin." Luke is confused. She never has put them together, and she usually puts the same people together. Seeing calum is with Kaylee, it was odd too.

When she finished everyone moved to be by their partners. Ashton was so hyper and tripped over a desk running to Luke.

Luke laughs, something he doesn't do much. He really has a good feeling about this boy.
