"No. The police talked to me this morning. They asked me if I wanted to press charges, and I said no. After talking to Joey, he seemed nice enough."

"Thank God! I love you!" I shouted, maybe a little to loudly. I gave her a big hug. We just sat there and made small talk about Joey, then mom, and then dad. It hurts me a little to talk about him. He was to young. He just doesn't deserve this. Hopefully he is up in heaven right now. Gosh, if he is he's probably bragging about my 3200 meter time. He was so proud. I could see it in his caring brown eyes.

"The wake is tomorrow by the way. If you want ,beforehand, we can go buy new clothes for it," Emma suggests.

"I would love to. Wait!"

"What?"

"How will I get around if I can't walk?"

"I dunno. I hate to say it but probably a wheelchair."

"Let's ask the nurse," I say as I press the service button.

She enters the room soon after and asks if everything is alright.

I nod and ask, " How will I move when I have these casts on?"

"A wheelchair sweetie. I can get one now if you'd like. Any place special you need to go?"

"Well. No, but I...I... Emma?"

"Yes," she answers with a surprised look on her face.

"Can we go to the park?" I ask. I don't even know where that came from. I wanna get out of this horrible place. The white walls and uncomfy mattresses can really put a damper someone's mood.

"Yeah. Sure. I guess so."

"I 'll get your mom," the nurse volunteers and leaves the room.

She comes back minutes later with a wheelchair, and no mom.

"Where is she?" my sister starts to question.

"She's fine and she said that it was okay for you girls to go."

"Ok," I say questioningly. Emma helps me into the wheelchair, rolls me out the door and into the hallway.

We turn the corner and I'm met with a familiar face.
