To Finally See (Chandler Riggs Fanfiction)

4// Post-Op

HOPE'S POV

I wake up in my room with Chandler in a chair near me sleeping, his hand over mine. My eyes are dry and as I continue to look around I see Sam and Christina sitting  in the two extra chairs. He looks so cute. His head is tilted to the right, his brown hair barely covering one of his eyes. Christina is reading an anatomy book she got from the library, she wants to become a surgeon just like me. Sam is on her phone, probably watching Netflix or something like that. I shift a little in my bed making sure not to move my hand so I don't wake Chandler, plus I like the feeling of having his soft hand on mine. Both of the girls lift their heads and give me their attention. They rush over to me trying to be quiet. 

"How do you feel?" Christina asked with a worried tone. She's the one I'm closest too, Sam not as much but Christina knows everything about me.

"Good, my head kinda hurts." I said with a giggle.

"How'd it go?" Sam asked. She's the annoying one, but I love her too. She loves to spoil shows and stupid stuff like that but she's still a good friend for the most part.

"I have absolutely no idea. I was asleep the whole time you know. Did Dr. Shepard come in yet?" 

"No, he should be in shortly though. You look weird with that bandage on your head, and did you know they shaved off all of your hair. The nurse came in and told us-"  Sam got cut off with a knock on the door.

"Hello, may I come in?" Dr. Shepard asked.

"Of course." I replied. I felt a movement from my hand, and saw Chandler was was waking up. Dr. Shepard walked in slowly with a blue binder looking thing in his hands and opened it up. He was pretty handsome for a doctor or surgeon, whatever he was he was handsome. 

"Speaking already! Wow, it's only been a couple hours and you've already made a lot of progress." he said with a bright smile. His teeth were perfectly white and straight. "Good news, we got the whole tumor out and you should be good to go by tomorrow afternoon, it wasn't that terrible so no damage was done and it went extremely well!"

"Uhh, Oh.. mm.." I was literally speechless. I look to the right and see Chandler slip his fingers between mine and gives me a slight smile. I squeeze his hand a little and he squeezes mine back and I smile. I turn my head back to Dr. Shepard. "Just, thank you so much, I don't know how I could ever repay you. I, just thank you so much." 

"Dr. Shepard?" Christina asked suddenly.

"Yes?" He replied with a turn of his head.

"I was wondering if you could help me, well me and Hope out. You see, we both want to become surgeons really bad and I know we're only 14 but we're eager and will do anything." Christina said. I wasn't expecting this to come out of her.

"I'll see what I can do." He winked and left the room.

"You want to become a surgeon huh?" Chandler said with a raised eyebrow.

"Indeed." I replied with a giggle and I ruffled up his hair.

"Hey!" He laughed.

"Hey Hope? Sam and I gotta get going, so happy your feeling well. See you soon." Christina said, and they both hugged me and left the room with a smile.

"They're nice." Chandler said.

"Yeah, their pretty cool." I replied and smiled like a goof. Chandler stood up and came over to the bed and laid down next to me. We cuddled and he rubbed my bandaged head softly while he kissed my cheek. He grabbed my hand again and held it tight. I smiled really big and I turned my head around for a moment. We were turned to the side, facing the side wall. I couldn't keep my eyes off of him. He must be really tired because within minutes he wrapped his other arm around me and slowly shut his eyes. Soon, I fell asleep as well and we continued to lay together.
