"My my, is that not Ms. Elliot right before my eyes?"
His lidded eyes bore into mine, and his smile was reminiscent of a guy I knew. I surveyed my surroundings, taking note of the red sky and a giant pentagram floating.

Of course I'm in hell... After everything I did for HIM, it would be fucked up if I made it to heaven.
This is what I deserve.

"Who are you?" I questioned sceptically.

"I'm surprised you don't remember me, after all, I was the one ̷w̷̷h̷̷o̷-"

"ARGH!!!" I continued to slam my head into my fist. My red and exhausted eyes squeezed together as if closing them would make the work in front of me vanish. In the midst of my mid life crisis, if you could even call it that, I was struggling to find balance between my work life and my "outside" life.

I had to be kidding myself, I never went outside. The fear of being judged on how I presented myself, how I walked, how I spoke with my disgustingly nasal voice, made me immobile. Even the thought of someone staring at my back as I walked in front of them made me want to throw up.

Of course, you can't just avoid the outdoors when you're an adult. Luckily, I had found an online job that had only required me to rate the quality of a multitude of items. Unfortunately, this meant that to get to ends meet, I had to review an exhausting amount of items a day and write a 500 word review for each.

The worst part, was trying to write a review on an item that just didn't work.

It felt like I had been staring at a rusty old radio for hours on end. I could tell it was an antique.

By the looks of this thing, It could have been made in the 1900s!

I was as close as the thickness of a hair follicle away from smashing this thing on the ground and telling my boss it had broke during shipment.

"You think you are soooooooo smart huh?! Thinking you cannot work just cause you're old! I ought to.... Actually I can't do anything."

I stared at the radio dumbfounded.

What has my life come to?

Rubbing my eyes with my sluggish arms, I huffed out my anger and decided to go on a walk.

....From my room to the living room.

Jumping onto my raggedy couch and reaching over to the small coffee table that sat between the couch and the small television to grab the remote, I turned on the news.

"Recent events in the __________ area have shown to be Stₐᵣₜᵢₙg ₜₒ ᵢₘPᵣₒᵥₑ...." The lady's voice, whose name I never cared to learn, drowned out into the darkness of the room. A cold chill that had not been there previously had entered the room, uninvited. The hairs on my neck stood up as I was tempted to look back at the door to my room.

Fuck this shit....

My head whipped to the side and widened in dismay at the bright red light being emitted from my room. Without thinking, my body started moving on its own, being hypnotized by the light. The closer I moved to the light, the more nauseous I began to feel. This, however, did not stop me from turning the handle to the door and stepping into the room, immediately being consumed by the blinding light.

All of a sudden, everything around me began to disappear, and I was left floating in the air. But, eventually, all things fall, and so did I.

Hurling through the sky, I braced myself for the impact of the ground against my body.

But it never came.

The sensation stopped suddenly, and I was met by another blinding light, though this one seemed to be natural. A groan escaped my lips as I struggled to move against what I guessed was a sidewalk. A faint sound of walking made its way into my ears, letting me know I was not alone.

Where am I...?

After realizing the sound of the shoes stopped, I lifted my head and was greeted by a tall man gazing down at me.

"Oh my! it seems you've suffered quite the fall, 𝓂𝓎 𝒹𝑒𝒶𝓇~"
