Hiari. They'd only been the general of Kenya's Pound Puppies organization for around...2 years now? This was all still rather new to them, all of it.
They sat in the same circle with the other D7 members just earlier, trying their best to focus on everything going on. The weiner dog, Strudel, was explaining something, the delivery system with the complex name they couldnt quite remember. They felt so... out of place among the other dogs here, all the other generals have been in that role for a long while before them, not to mention how they all knew eachother already too.

They shook it off their mind, anxiously scanning the room around them from the dog bed that Shelter 17 had provided them, though someone had already noticed their off state.

"You alright over here, sugar?" Dolly walked over to them, a worried expression on her face.

"Uh.. yeah, I mean, kinda. I don't know." They shrugged nervously.

"Oh dear," Dolly put a paw on their back, "you sure, Hun? You seem awfully stressed."

Hiari paused for a moment, an unsure expression on their face, "Well... I mean... I just sorta feel kinda like uh, like none really know me here that well. I mean, the rest of the D7 have known eachother for... awhile. Ehh.. like, before me, you know?"

Dolly thought for a moment, perking up with a thought, "Well, sugar, I think I may just have an idea!"

-

Innessa sat on her dog bed, tracing lines in the dirt beneath her unfocusedly. Turning her head up when she noticed the pink poodle walking towards her.

"Innessa? You have a moment to talk, sugar?" Dolly asked.

"Mhm." She hummed.

"Oh, well that's just lovley. You see, I was hoping to introduce you to Hiari here." Dolly waited for a response from her, though Innessa just rose an eyebrow,

"..Who?"

"Haha... well you see, Hiari here is the general from Kenya! They were at last years D7 meeting... though unfortuently you couldnt make it then, so, I was hoping you two could meet now! It would just be amazing if you could talk with them, dear."

Innessa looked over at Hiari, almost looking her up at down sort of, "Yeah, alright." She shrugged, looking back over at Dolly.

"Well thats just lovley, you two get to know eachother then!" Dolly said, patting Hiari on the back, before walking off.

There was a pause for a second, Hiari looking down at Innessa and Innessa looking down at the ground again.

"You can sit down if you want." Innessa said.

"Oh, uh, I can go.. grab my dogbed if you want, uh, I don't know if you-" They rambled, Innessa cutting them off.

"That's fine, go do that." Innessa said.

Hiari nervously grinned, grabbing their dogbed and placing it beside hers.

Hiari wasn't an introverted dog. No, they loved to talk with people, any other.. non high ranking dog and they probably wouldve talked their ears off by now. But something about the D7, and something esspecially about Innessa kept them silent. Maybe they shouldve just went and talked to Lucky or something that would probably have been eaiser, or Todd he's nice, right? Or-

"Kenya, huh?"

Hiari was snapped out of their frantic thoughts quickly, looking over at Innessa confusedly, "Uh.... Huh?"

"Kenya. Dolls said you live in Kenya? Kenya, Africa?" Innessa questioned them, locking her eyes on them.

"Uh, yeah. Why are you asking?" Hiari asked, tilting their head.

"I come from Russia. It's cold up there. Nothing like Kenya id assume." Innessa sighed, looking down at the ground again.
Innessa flicked her eyes over at Hiari, looking over their confused expression. She sat up straight, trying to make herself look more collected.
"Sorry. Ive just been... missing my homeland alot." She said solemly.

Hiari looked up at her, thinking for a second before leaning on the edge of her dogbed and placing a paw over hers. They smiled softly, "Yeah... me too."

"...Really?" Innessa questioned, her eyes widening.

Hiari smiled, "Yeah."

They sat in silence for a minute, just looking at eachother. Innessa took note of their paws, warm. She was never used that feeling, she was always used to the cold instead... it felt so weird. Everything here did. Innessa coughed, pulling her paw and eyes away from her quickly, covering her face.

Hiari chuckled, looking away, a lovesick smile on her face. They laid down, closing their eyes, "Night, Innessa."

Innessa stayed quiet for a moment, laying down quietly. A paw laid over the one Hiari had been nearly holding, "...goodnight."
