As I step into the resort, I nearly collapse in relief. I didn't realize just how cold I'd been until I finally began to warm up. I look around the large room, taking in everything. There was a band playing up on a stage and a couple monsters were scattered around, relaxing. A pink bear girl was manning the counter and I decide to see if she's selling anything good.

"O-Oh hello there! Welcome to the Honeydew Resort! W-what can I do for you?" The besr greets, seeming a bit nervous. "Hello, nind if I see what you got for sale?" She nods, a faint smile on her face as I look at the items she brings out. Two items immediately catch my eye. The first is some coffee, which I could use to free the monster stuck to the pole. There was also a Honeydew pin, which I felt would be much better than the feather. However, I didn't have enough G for both of them. I decide to buy the coffee and on my way to free the monster, I can get some G from sparing some monsters.

"I'll take the coffee, please." She nods and hands me a plastic cup with a lid on it before I put it away. I talk with a few of the patrons and request the band to play a song or two, making a bit of small talk with the monsters. When they weren't trying to kill me, they were actually pretty kind, if a bit eccentric. There was one who thought I had come from some place called the dunes because of my outfit, which intrigued me. Might have to keep an eye out for that.

As I'm getting ready to leave, I notice the heater in the middle of the room had a note on it. 'Made by Martlet and Chujin.' So, the bird girl built this along with this Chujin fellow. A co-worker, maybe? I kept the name in the back of my mind as I left the resort, back tracking to where I saw the trapped monster.

As I brought out the coffee to pour on his tongue, he starts freaking out. "That'sh too hot! You'll burn mah tongue!" He had a point. The coffee was pretty damn hot. Now, I could go on a long side quest to find a way to a way to cool it down.

Or....

I place the cup into the snow and wait a few minutes, whistling. After checking it from time to time, once I'm sure it won't leave 3rd degree burns on the poor guy's tongue, I pick it up and pour it on his tongue before he finally gets free. "Ah, sweet freedom! I must express my gratitude, kind stranger! I thought my poor tongue would be forever trapped to that icy prison! I must reward your generosity in some fashion... Oh, but of course!" He takes his scarf off and hands it to me."Here you go. My grandmother knitted that scarf herself! While it is a shame to part with it, it is the only reward great enough to reward you with. Now, I must make haste back home, lest my mother worry where I am! Farewell!" He then turns around heads into the trees.

I blink a couple times and tilt my head. He was an odd one but at least he was free now. I look down at the scarf in my hands. Part of me felt bad for taking it, even if that's what he wanted, but it wasn't like I could do anything about it now. After taking out the feather, I wrap the scarf around my neck, sighing as it warmed me up a bit. This seemed like it was pretty powerful, so it was definitely worth it. How I knew is completely beyond me but I'm sure it isn't important.

I head back to the resort, and decide to buy a pancake, since I didn't need the honeydew pin anymore. I decide to check out the hot springs, talking with a few people there, includiñg a poor monster who lost a mitten. I could've sworn I saw a flash of yellow in the water but decided to ignore it and move on.

I head to the east, as I pass by a sign for the resort and soon come across a bridge, with the planks rising and falling in certain places. I spot Martlet hammering a sign into the snow. Before I can think to call out to her, she flies off, the gust of wind causing the sign to become lopsided. After listening to the monster next to the bridge complain about the royal guard, I start at the beginning of the bridge and take a deep breath before beginning to head forward. I carefully time moving forward when the planks line up and after a minute or two, I'm finally across, pressing the pressure plate at the end, causing the planks to settle into place. That wasn't so bad!
