A Little Experiment 🔞

A few hours ago, Caelus received a message from Ruan Mei, Member 81 of the Genius Society, asking him to meet her in the Secluded Zone of the Herta Space Station to conduct an experiment.

Now, Caelus was walking down the path headed towards her lab while in deep thought. Why exactly did Ruan Mei reach out to him this time? Last time, he remembered that Ruan Mei had him clean up a mess of her's and it came under the form of an Emanator of Propagation clone.

While he's a bit mad, he won't deny that she's been plaguing his thoughts as of lately. Why? He asked himself. Why is he thinking of Ruan Mei of all people, is what drew his curiosity. He hasn't had contact with her for months now and and all of a sudden, she just messaged him out of nowhere, saying that she requires his assistance.

At first, Kiran and Aether were skeptical as they have a hint of distrust for Ruan Mei after Caelus told them his misadventures in the Space Station back then. However, Kiran was able to give his insight on why is he thinking of Ruan Mei half the time - it's because that Caelus might have a crush on her.

Now that's laughable to say the least. Him? In love with Member 81 of the Genius Society? He found it funny at first but then he realized - Kiran's insights about romance are never usually wrong. So... It's possible that he's actually in love with her? However, such thoughts had to come to a halt for a moment as Caelus has finally arrived at the lab.

The automatic doors of the lab opened as Caelus stepped inside, seeing various equipment around the room. He took a quick look around the lab with a 360° spin as he is then met by the sight of her, having stepped into the room as well.

"Oh, Caelus - it's you."She said with a small smile, although she returned to her neutral look immediately after greeting him," I'm glad you came on such a short notice."

Caelus nods, his hand on his hip.

"It's fine. So... Why'd you call me here?"

"Ah, yes. About that, I apologize for the sudden inconvenience, but lately, I have been conducting some experiments here on the Space Station. However, I have hit a roadblock as of the moment,"Ruan Mei said, walking around the lab as she placed down her notepad on the table with a small sigh.

"Nothing that classifies as world-ending experiments?"Caelus asked with a brow raised, hoping that this won't be like last time. Ruan Mei let out a small giggle.

"Relax. It's nothing of the sort."Ruan Mei shook her head to reassure Caelus that he won't be cleaning up more of her nonsense. Caelus let out a sigh of relief.

"I just require your assistance with a few experiments I have in mind - worry not, it's nothing harmless."

Caelus looked at her with a brow raised, seemingly not believing her words a bit. Ruan Mei knew that he held little trust for her since that time when he had to clean up her mess that was hiding underneath the Space Station.

"I stay true to my word, Caelus - no harm will come to you during these little experiments that I need your assistance in conducting with."

Caelus was still skeptical but nodded, which delighted Ruan Mei as she clasped her hands together.

"Good. Now, let's get started."

Within these few hours, Caelus has been assisting with Ruan Mei in some minor experiments - which thankfully left the Trailblazer unharmed during the process.

"That should be it for now."Ruan Mei said, writing down the results of the experiment on her notepad as she grabbed a piece of chocolate from a bowl next to her, popping it into her mouth. She then looked at Caelus with a grateful look," You did so well, Caelus."
