A Little Birdie Told Me.

Hey!! before you read the chapter, here's a soundtrack you can listen while reading. The chapter here isn't as long as the last one.

EP : 2 // LOCATION : forest.  // TIME : Morning // CHARACTERS : Diamond(D), Echo.

The skies are clear, it feels calming.

Diamond is waking up from yesterday's events, a new friend is here to greet him.

? : " Wakie Wakie, eggs and bakey. "

D : " ogh.. "

? : " and groggy. "

Diamond opened his eyes, to see a bird sitting in front of him.

D : " woo-woah. "

The Diamond Steve stood up, shocked from seeing said bird.

D : " um, hello? Parrot? "

? : " Hi. "

D : " I- you- can talk? I mean! it makes much more sense whoever was just- uhhh, talking to me.. Wait- did you put me under this tree? "

? : " you're chub, heavy. But I'm a stronk boi. "

The bird flapped their wings, one of their wings are bandaged.

D : " I- do I weigh heavy? "

? : " you weigh like a bunch of pies. "

D : " ok. "

The Diamond steve sighs, he's probably not gonna get anywhere with this parrot. But then realising something, the feeling on his legs are no longer there. He looked down on the ground, there's tiny black specks on the ground. Presumed dead.

D : " Are those.. bugs? "

? : " nooo really?? I didn't see that. "

? : " I got rid of them for you before it could start getting to you. "

D : " first- what's uh, your name? like do you have one?"

? : " Echo. "

the bird chirps with enthusiasm about their name.

D : " I see one of your wings.. are uh. "

Echo : " it's nothing, just got injured is all. What about you? "

D : " Diamond. "

Echo : " ok then Diamond, We're gonna be good pals! "

D : " oh- that's cool. "

Echo : " Anyway, can I ask why I found you half dead on the ground? "

D : " ehhh.. Dark Diamond, if you know. "

Echo interrupted Diamond before he could speak the rest.

Echo : " DARK DIAMOND? "

the Parrot's lower beak dropped, the tiny eyes of the bird widening

Echo : " THE DARK OF THE DIAMOND? He's a scary guy. "

Diamond exhaled, his arms pointed at the Parrot.

D : " - yeah! that's what I'm trying to say!  I launched him- somewhere! to the sky. Well that's not important right now because he isn't here. "

The Parrot's feathers would perk up, looking over their shoulder then back to Diamond.

Echo : " Let's go, I know somewhere we can go. Usually there's this house near here that's usually empty. "

Diamond wasn't uneasy now, noting the Parrot's behaviour.

D : " uh, okay lead the way. "

Echo would preach on Diamond's shoulder with the help of the Steve, giving them the directions yet when Echo spoke he had a few stutters here and there. Diamond was worried.

They finally got to where they are, Echo was still unsure due to being paranoid.

The Diamond Steve entered the house, closing the door behind him.

D : " The house's already lit up. "

Echo : " of course, look at those blue lanterns! "

D : " right, there's a lot of books here. "

Echo : " I explored here a little bit, most of the place is filled with books. "

D : " think we can rest here for a while? "

Echo : " Yeah, I'm certain we can. "

The house is lit nicely, the soul lanterns are giving the 2 a sense of safety. After a few seconds Echo would look to Diamond, flapping their wings a bit.

Echo : " hey Diamond how old are you? you look relatively new. "

D : " uhhh, a few days old? "

Echo : " You're my son now. "

D : " what? "

Echo : " I'm older than you, so you're my son. "

D : " huh?? "

Echo : " anyway, go left. We can sit down from here. "

D : " Kay "

The Diamond Steve moved to the other room where Echo wanted them to go, seeing a bunch of seats. Then sat down, placing Echo on the Table while Diamond simply sat there.

Echo : " know how to read? "

D : " uhh, probably? "

Echo : " there's tons of books here, wanna read some? "

D : " you know how to read..? "

Echo : " probably, I'm smart. Also might if I ask you something? "

D : " what is it? "

Echo : " what's with the black thing on your eye? "

The Diamond Steve blinked, Diamond has never saw themselves in a mirror before so how would he know? only Echo would know what he'd look like.

Diamond blinked, trying to feel where his eye is.

D : " where? "

Echo : " uhhh, I-dunno? it's just a big vertical black line on your face. "

D : " never mind, all this talking is making me bored and tired. And it's a tired that I can sleep off."

Echo : " then go to sleep?? I'l just keep watch. "

D : " Thanks Echo. "

Echo : " I'm stronk though, so we're good. "

Diamond would just rest their head on the table, drifting into a unconscious state

the only entrance and exit of the same house would open, it was dark outside and someone would step in as their "calming" particles dissipate.
